That's usually the way it goes with me too before a show MT, don't stress on the jacket. She looks absolutely sweet and is obviously riding well given her most excellent results. I would try different makes and see if you can't find one that is more for her build, but keep it low key so that she doesn't start feeling like she looks funny in this one. Do you have RJ Classics down in the States? They seem to fit a little differently and might work if they have kids sizing. There's lots of kids out there that have hand me down jackets that don't fit quite right but they still feel like a million bucks. I realize that this is a new one but it isn't that bad. I just hate the bunching...makes her look like she has boobs or something! But no, she liked it just fine! Coat #3 is coming tomorrow in theory (didn't make it before the show) and I have high hopes that it's the one, but we'll see.

Thanks BT, They do and I love their coats but the 10 is too tight, the 12 is too long and too big everywhere but across the belly, we've already tried them both. This coat in the pics is a 12 Devon Aire Stretch coat, that seemed to run a little shorter for a 12 but clearly not short enough. |

She looks great! I don't notice the bunching at all! You should have posted this over in the show ring thread--no one posts over there, but I forget to check here for show news--it needs a kick start! |

I love the pictures! I thought she just started riding a month ago or so! I think the overall picture looks fine on the pony. Don't stress too much about the coat. It is fine for now. But, you have to keep posting cute pictures. |

Thanks guys I'm a turnout perfectionist I guess!Won for me, just has been riding for just about a year, she started when she was 6. She only rides once a week right now. She is going to riding summer camp for 5 weeks where she'll be riding every day, plus her weekly lesson, so I am really excited to see how much she improves by the end of the summer.

I love the pictures! But I already told you that! See how the next jacket fits and if it's not better than this one return it; honestly, this one isn't bad. 5 week riding camp! Wow!! My girls are going for one week each and I think that's all I could manage. (Getting them there dressed appropriately every day rather than once or twice a week is really hard!) Hope she has a blast! She'll be outriding you after 5 weeks!

thanks ladies...new pics posted on the show ring board! and you can see why I hate the coat in the close up ![]() TBF I am super excited for her to be in camp for that long...normally she only does a week or two, and this is full day camp. Ah how i love Virginia! Its a beautiful place, with cute ponies and sooooo reasonable, plus i won a free week of camp in a drawing they did at their open house! |

MT The learning curve at camp is amazing! I used to teach it and was always just thrilled with how quickly the kids progressed with a lesson each day. Much steeper learning curve than the once a week lessons. Our riding school stops during the summer and we just have a summer camp for the whole summer (lucky me gets the summers off now). I always suggest that my riding school kids do a week of camp at least towards the end of the summer so they are primed and ready to get right back into the weekly lessons. Sounds like Maya is going to have a wonderful summer! Do let us know how coat #3 fits. |

I would get the coat tailored rather than trying to find cinderella's shoe off the shelf. A good tailor can work wonders. When I was a kid-- my mom used to sew my hunt coats from scratch! Taking in a too-big coat is not so difficult and you'll hace nicer results than off the shelf. |
