3Bays, I don't think your post was in the least bit offensive, and I always like hearing your stories. I've not had a lot of people in my life pass away. Of those who have, I have had dreams about them. With the animals in my life who have passed, there have been times when I just felt their presence and knew they were with me. Sometimes they'd come to me in a dream (my bosses' dog did the night that he passed - he came to tell me he was ok and happy so I told my boss), sometimes it just feels like they are there in a really profound way. One night I was sleeping over at KaliTude's and Mr. KaliTude's old pit bull came to me in the middle of the night. I felt this heavy bump on the bed and then heard panting. The next morning I asked if the house was haunted 'cause the dog was in the room with me the night before and Mr. KaliTude said that yes, he sees him, too! And then there's my little Wildebeast pup. I swear she is Toopy dog reincarnated. She does Toopy zoomy butts, and she goes WAAAOOOOOAAAAAWWWW like Toopy dog used to. We always joke and say, "did Toopy tell you to say that?" Anyways, JTM, I hope your friend continues to be a presence in your life and that by doing so she can bring some peace and closure for you.

My cousin that committed suicide left behind a wife and two young daughters. One night a few weeks after his death, his wife was driving the girls around for some evening activities and had to run back home for something. So she parked in her driveway, went in the front door and came out to find the car (and girls) gone! After a moment of panic, she found them in car, in the garage. The girls told her that "dad" had gotten in the car and pulled it into the garage. Now, if she were alone, I'm sure she would have assumed she just forgot where she parked. But since the girls also insist that their dad had put the car in the garage, she really can't imagine it was anything but a brief visit by him to check on the kids. I have to admit I haven't personally had too many "after life" experiences but I haven't had too many people close to me die. I am a vivid dreamer and have had my grandparents in my dreams; not sure if they were just dreams or not. |

Kate I am so glad you found your bracelet. Cool story.3bays...nothing offensive to me at all. I believe as you do and I know that the people and animals that we love come back to us in some form or fashion. My MIL (Kiltman's mother) passed away from cancer a few years ago and I still feel her presence and miss her daily. The house we own was once hers, and my best memories are here. I always feel safe in this place. Every tree that is here was planted by her. Granted I curse the reasoning behind planting a china berry tree over the driveway, I still love the thought that this was all her creation. An interesting sidenote, Kiltman's mom LOVED coffee. Being German, you could set the time by her cravings for the stuff. I never drank coffee with any regularity until I moved into this house. Now I CRAVE it in the morning. Have to have it or I just can't function. I blame the kraut (said with love...she would laugh at me for calling her that). I think the people and animals you love stay with you forever and become part of your soul. I know I am a better person for loving them and their passing always makes me more of aware of what is really important in my life. I see them regularly inmy dreams too, and I long for those moments. Running with my greyhounds, riding my old heart horse on the beach, talking to Luise in the kitchen... they're still here, just in a different way.

My gosh, I'm so sorry JTM. I hope you're doing OK now, I know it will take a while since no one really knows how to sort these things out. I wish I could help you more.
