I do. I have no idea what made me start as it does not seem to be a family tradition. Isuzu I-Mark (best college car ever): Suzi Toyota Corrolla: Cory Dodge Dakota: No name...other than POS. Huge Red Chevy Siverado: Fire Truck Black Firebird: Crow Red Dodge Truck: Sparky Black Dodge Long Bed Loud as all get out Diesel Truck: Mack Black Altima Coup: Hollywood (got the name one night when I hit lock and my dog was standing in the lights. The car does a light show when you hit lock, so Grizz looked like he was in the line of Paparazzi. I said you look like Hollywood! But, it stuck for the car and, thank heavens, not for the dog.). |

I have to add - my fiance just got a 2010 Subaru WRX Hatchback. It is un-named as yet. When he bought it, he traded in a BRIGHT YELLOW Nissan X-Terra...called The Short Bus.

LOL, yeah...we do get into some Jack@$$ery together! Thank God I'm marrying him! We are made for each other; I knew it when we were 17 and I know it now. I threatened him with this today: Someday I am going to surreptitiously tape his silliness with the dogs and send it to you - you'll pee yourself!

Yup, mine have always been named. I named DH's too, which he wasn't terribly excited about at first, haha! The Toyota Corolla was Chiquita. The Subaru Forester is Roo. The Toyota Tacoma was Bert. And the Toyota Prius is Gus. |

Ooh, I forgot about the first car I ever named! My Dad had a Volkswagon Sirocco that I named Ernie (my favorite Sesame Street character). I was 18 and the car was recently retired, it was 12 years old with over 200,000 miles and needed a lot of work. Mr. Ride'em (this was the first time we dated) worked on it for ages trying to get it mobile because neither of us had a car at the time, but alas, we had to give up. Thanks for triggering a great memory! |

Hey ya gotta go with your gut when naming a vehicle ya know? Sometimes a name just comes to you...and sometimes they EARN their names. We have always named our cars: Our big, white Ford F250 crew that burned in the fall was called "Gruss" the great white shark. The Black Jetta is called "Das Auto le Crap" or "Zhetta" (or the piece of zhett) Can you tell how I fell about htis little car? The Honda Odyssey is "the Phoenix" because it rose from the ashes of the Gruss. We had a Dodge Durango called "Rango" in college I had a FOIN Jeep Scrambler with custom paint called "Eggs" Kiltman drove a HUGE Buick land yacht that we called the Biscuit...because the suspension made it float like a biscuit in milk. ![]() Edited by jillincolorado, Mar 29 2010, 04:18 PM.

We had a Dodge Durango called "Rango" Hmmm, ok, Jaci, if your Dodge Durango was "Rango", should my Dodge Intrepid be named "Rapid"? OY, it's hard to name this car...maybe need to drive it a bit more to "feel" the personality. Laughed at Kiltman's "biscuit" car! My DH had an AMC Hornet Hatchback that was green...we called it Kato The BuzzBug. |

MGP - completely off topic - as a long-term owner of labs, your avatar makes me laugh every time I look at it. We had a chocolate female that did that once.
