Of course, everybody seems to have one - do you? Do you use it?? I am considering Wii Fit for myself ( ), and a few fun games for the children (ages 5 and 7). Any recommendations?

I (well, the boyfriend) have one. Don't play it much now because school takes up most of my time. I will say my favorite game is Link's Crossbow Training. It comes free with the wii zapper You're mostly shooting at targets but you do shoot some ..creature things. After you shoot them they disappear. Nothing bloody or gorey if you're worried about that with the kiddos. |

I have one and we have barely ever used it. My kids were 6 when I got it....it required quite a bit of my involvement to play many of the games, and frankly I don't have time for game playing Now the think the battery is dead on the remotes but otherwise, I'll bet we break it out again over Christmas break...

Super fun for a crowd. My parents have one and we break it out every Xmas for hours and hours. DH and I have one as well. I used to use it almost daily for My Fitness Coach, which is an exercise program, but now that I've got access to the University gym's aerobics classes I've hardly used it. DH thinks I will pick it back up again in the deep winter when it's harder to drive to the gym. I like the Wii Fit, but buy that for fun and not fitness. The mini-games are addictive but they're not going to do much for your body. My Fitness Coach, the Gold's Gym boxing game, and Wii Active are for people who are actually trying to lose weight/build muscle. |

We have one (our groomsmen got us ours for a wedding gift...I love those boys!) and it's a blast. It's mostly used for Guitar Hero, but the sports games are lots of fun too. They're a shockingly good workout too...we spent an entire weekend playing the Summer Olympics game once (literally the entire weekend...like 10 hours a day...we're lame people) and both me & Mr. Indy were so sore and exhausted from it, it was pathetic. We have the steering wheels for Mario Kart, which others find more fun than I do...I suck at the game because I steer like a drunken monkey. But for those who can steer seem to really like it. I bet the kiddos would have fun with it - it's very family friendly (it's an amusing game to watch because all of the Miis on your Wii make appearances and it's fun to spot them while others play). We also have the Wii Fit, which is a fun toy. You have to have a bit of a sense of humor to use it (it makes your Mii all squatty looking if you're at all overweight and chastises you if you gain weight or haven't used it in a while). But I get a lot of enjoyment out of the games on it...not so much the yoga and other fitness stuff, but the aerobics and balance games are good times. You can also use the balance board for other games. We have Wii Ski for it, which isn't as fun as fun as I thought it would be. Wii Music is also not as fun as we thought...though kids might like it, it's kind of boring for grownups. |

I bought one.. played it for awhile, then sold it on Ebay. I just never got into it. IMO, it's more of a kids system. I mean there are some games that adults can enjoy, but you get tired/bored of them easily, at least I did. |

I've lost 20 lbs and tightened way up thru diet and the Wii Fit over the last two months. It's a kind of silly way to exercise, but I can just mindlessly do the step game for 20 minutes and then throw in some yoga and strength exercises and darned if it isn't working for me. I'm starting to get bored and look for a harder workout, but it's been fun and easy to stick with for me. The "ohhh" it makes when I step on the balance board every morning cracks me up... insolent little toy that it is.

I'm of the opinion 'whatever works' - Denise Austen works for me, but I like the idea of the Wii. They have had it at the local library and the kids flock to play it. Looks like great fun! |
