As a PSA, I'm patrolling this thread for elves who are not too subtle and who post elf speak under their real names. If your "oops!" post went bye-byes after you edited it, that's what happened to it.

   That is so thoughtful Renn!!! But don't worry - subtle is my middle name. :teehee: No need to worry about my elf speak!!!

Thank you for answering my questions, the first for November
I may even take you up
on talking to your family member

There will be plenty more questions, of that I'm sure
So don't you fret or worry at all
I plan to have surprises, surprises galore!

I hope you have a very happy weekend
And that you enjoy the fall weather
I've started gathering goodies, that I can't wait for you to apprehend!

The End.

Delia, your elf is finally here! I finally managed to create an elvish account after only 34 tries! :brickwall:

Fortunately for you though, I'm much better at shopping than technology!
Yay, I have an elf! Sorry for the delayed response -- I've been under the weather for a few days and snuggled in bed. I'm a technophobe too so we're a good match! ;)

Oh elf, I don't know where you are. However, I wanted to let you know that I decided on a barn name for my new girl-- Lucy.
Hope to hear from you soon and that all is well!
My dear ImJumpin, have no fear,
Your tardy elf is finally here!

That pretty much exhausts my rhyming skills
I guess you could say that your elf is "no frills!"

OK, seriously, that's it for the rhyming cr@p! :innocent: Thanks for letting me know your new little girl's name. Your timing is impeccable!! ;) Now . . . off to Santa's workshop I go!

Renn is probably busting up laughing at the irony of the "Harry Potter kind of school scarf". I'm a HUUUUGE HP fan, and I told her for my birthday this year I wanted a Gryffindor scarf. Well, unfortunately, the colors are yellow and purple in the adult scarves, so that was a no go. However, I like the scarves that are kind of skinny and I can wear in school that look, as you put it, stylin'. And pinks, oranges, blues are all colors that are safe bets. Greens as well. And I'm very sorry about the lack of horsey things in that list. I may *hopefully* have things to add in a little bit.

Purple? Holy Headless Nick, that's wrong! The good news is that as a Techno-phobe elf, I have a line on some hand crafters that might be able to solve this scarf crisis. I'll give Mrs. Claus a jingle and see what we can work out.

Er, Toothpick, that Mrs. Claus is right on top of stuff.

She wanted to know if you were interested in a Y1-2 or a Y3-4. Apparently they are different styles! :o

Good Morning kikki!

Your elf is hard at work in the workshop here making something very special just for you! I havent' found any questions to ask you yet but I looked at Santa's list and it had a BIG red check beside "nice" so I figure you can pretty much have all that is on your wishlist... do you remember what that was?? :teehee:

Dearest Reynard
I'm confused, this could be hard
As I am not sure
Could I lure
You to tell me
The difference you see
Between sock yarn
and regular yarn? As I have grown up in a barn
I don't really know
And I don't want your feet to be cold should it snow

Oh Delia...

I'm trying hard to be a clever elf
But I really must admit to myself
This rhyming thing I don't find easy
I'm stopping before I get queasy!

So I need a little help from you to make your Christmas a merry one. Is there anything you dream of finding in your stocking? Do the ponies or pups want anything special? Any particular color? Are you a Small, Medium or Large? Coffee or Tea? Help an elf out here and give me few hints!

Sock yarn is for knitting socks, of course.

If you google "sock yarn," there are entire companies that do nothing but sell stuff designed for crazy people (crazier than horse people, truth be told) to spend ten to twelve hours and anywhere from five to fifty bucks knitting up their very own socks. That almost never fit as well as the pair you paid $0.50 for at Wal-mart.

The yarn is generally thin and machine washable and it is called "sock yarn." Some fancy cashmere blends can probably be had for under $25 if you can find them on sale. No kidding. I did mention knitters are crazy, didn't I?

She means, do you want a first/second year student scarf or a third/fourth year scarf? They are different. How come I know this and you don't? :nyah:

I think the difference is that Y1-2 scarves have tassels and evenly-spaced stripes, and Y3-4 scarves have fringe and are smaller stripes on a darker background.

Year 1/2: http://web.archive.org/web/20080501064758/http://knit.atypically.net/images/scarves/thumbs/wa-slyth201sm.jpg

Year 3/4 from the movie: http://web.archive.org/web/20080601221859/http://knit.atypically.net/images/poaRef/pb_020.jpg

Perhaps Mrs. Claus could tell me if I've got this right?
