Well, dammit, I missed most of this. Had to leave here @ 10 AM and didn't get home until 5. From what I was able to see early this morning, it was not a course for those with big-strided horses and those who weren't able to collect their horses paid for it. Seemed like a lot had mixed trips, inconsistent pace, steering with one hand (what is with that these days?).

Gunnar, tell me what they had to do. Anybody have to switch horses or anything interesting?

I went in person and the courses were amazing. The second round was ridden by 24 kids and they had to choose thier own course. Every fence was set so it could be jumped either direction. You had to jump each fence, which included a trot jump and they had to hand gallop one fence, but they could do them in any order they wanted and in any direction. VERY, VERY COOL! There were some spectacular rides on the hand gallop, especially the one by Lillie Keenan. She barreled around the corner to a very long approach to the white oxer and jumped it perfectly. Loved it.

Then the top 4 jumped a shortened course without their stirrups.

Zazou Hoffman won it and Chase Boggio was reserve. I hadn't seen Chase ride before and I have to say I was very, very impressed, and I am not easily impressed. He is just the softest, most beautiful rider. Zazou is also excellent, just more workman like.

Results 10th to 1st

10. Molly Braswell
9. Hasbrouck Donovan
8. Amber Henter
7. Lillie Keenan
6. Lucy Davis
5. Laura Pfeiffer
4. Samantha Harrison
3. Morgan Hail
2. Chase Boggio
1. Zazou Hoffman

Witchy -- who was judging this year? Did it seem like all the kids who trained with the same trainer did the same course, or did they tailor the trips to each kid/horse?

I couldn't watch -- I spent the weekend cleaning out the tack room, barn and storage shed after the BO's left for Florida for the winter. I love them dearly and they take fantastic care of the horses while they're here . . . but they are not the tidiest and NEVER throw anything away. Seriously, I think they were trying to beat the "biggest ball of twine" record and haven't thrown away one empty feed bag for the past 6 months. The first weekend in November is always very cathartic for me!

Jack Towell and Bill Moroney were the judges.

Andre, Missy and John seemed to have the the most in there, I didn't write down each one's course, there were repeats w/in a farm but some that had the "own" as well.

I really enjoyed Syracuse, hoping this will be the first of many trips! ;)

Yes to a visit and NO to a fall cleaning! Better yet, you and Phoebe can come see my sparkling clean barn for inspiration, and then take a walk with the dogs in the woods along the river. (And then have a beer out on the patio at the Old Brogue Pub.;) )

I'd love to Delia, but I think I'll be busy digging myself out from underneath my barn clutter :teehee:

Seriously though, can someone help me figure out an efficient way to get my 4564205454 hore blankets out of the aisle? I'm drowning under blankets.
