:) So Ty made his horse show debut this weekend (as "High Tide"... I finally decided on a name). He was supposed to go to his first show in september but conviently hurt himself 4 days before. Our barn show was this weekend, so I entered him in the green horse crossrail division. He's a bit spooky at stuff he has never seen before, so the port-o-potty, photography stand and tons of pony kids were very scary! Anyway, once I relaxed he was a super star. Granted, it was just xrails, but we got 2nd in the hack, and a 3rd and 5th over fences. And he didn't spook when I got the ribbons and even wore them around for a while. The photographer kept commenting on how cute he was and how good of a mover he was. :cloud9: So he's a super star. =) My BF didnt get many pictures because he was manning the food booth but thats ok.

My wonderful friend also lent me her horse to do the pre adults on. She had been letting me lesson on him while Ty was hurt and he is a super star too. We had a runout in the warm up because of a bad distance I got him to then we rocked the other classes. It was super muddy and I think Remi really likes the muck. I was pretty happy because I have never really showed a lot, so nerves are a huge issue and I over came that this weekend. I haven't shown in 6+ years and I have never won a class bigger than xrails. We were champions =)

The best part was that we did awesome in the Ballyhigh Classic class. This is a three part class-handy hunter (included roll backs, a trot fence, a halt and a hand gallop fence), outside course and then a hack. We rocked the handy hunter class and I could feel that Remi was having a blast! Then we did really great for the outside course-it included jumping out of the ring, coops, a halt, getting off, leading the horse over a jump and getting back on. The judge later told me that we had the high score in that round. Anyway, we got 3rd overall (behind a horse that is for sale for $150k and does the 3'6") and my trainer was really proud of me! She kept telling me I rocked the class (and that she thought for sure I was going to win it). My barnmates told me I had the biggest grin on my face! My goal is to do it on Ty next year.

Sorry that was a novel! Here's one shot my BF took of me and the boys and I'll post links to the pro photos this week so I can decide what to get.

Wow! Congratulations! What an exciting show! Also, to be able to ride two different horses and do well on them both is a huge accomplishment. It takes me awhile to go back and forth between horses. The handy course sounds so fun. I can't wait for the new pro pictures.

Sorry for being so ignorant, but......would someone explain what a "Pre Adult" is, and a "Pre Child" for that matter??? I keep envisioning pregnant women riding around being judged on their fetus'!!!

CDE-- They're just a stepping stone class at a smaller height. In our area, adults/childrens are 3'0 so pre-adult/pre-childrens is 2'6.

Oh good lord I hope not!!!! =)

Pre/intermediate adult is what I call the mortified adults-2'6" for us wusses

The Classic was the MOST fun I have EVER EVER EVER had at a horse show. We are really lucky that there are two shows here that do a classic like this (it used to be a championship of sorts between the two but not anymore). Anyway, for the outside course, we jumped a brush box in the ring, then jumped out of the back gate. Then we turned, cantered a coop, galloped around the ring down to where the crowd was a jumped vertical on teh fence line. Then we had to come to a trot, come thru a gate and then walk across the drive way. We entered the yard where the course was and had to pick up a canter and canter directly to a coop down a small hill. Then we turned left and rolled back to another coop, around to the right over a brush jump. From there we turned and jumped a vertical, cantered around and halted. We got off, walked the horse over a jump and got back on. Then we had to jump the brush the other way. It was awesome! Remi is really fun horse to ride and you could tell he loved it.

OK here are a few pics of the outside course. Ty's pics aren't posted yet. I want to buy them all!

I know she took a few really nice ones in the ring and when she uploads them I will need help decided what to buy.
