Is the meadow on fire? Posts: 1,675 Group: Members Member #547 Joined: January 22, 2007	I took the girls to a really nice local show and decided to throw Bubba on the trailer. I thought I might show, depending on how the schedule went and how Bubba and I both felt about it. Well things worked out and I actually showed him over fences. Only 2'3", but I haven't shown over fences in years, so I wasn't sure how it would go. Amazingly, we were quite respectable. I had one bad spot in the first round and he bucked a change in the second, but all in all it was good and really fun. We were 8th and 5th in the jumps and we won the hack out of 15. It's sad that I used to happily jump 5' and now I'm jumping the same height as my 8 year old and her small pony and it looks just right to me. I will have photos when the photographer puts them up and if they aren't too scary I will share. I guess I should also say that the girls both had a very good show. Sophia was Champion in the Children's Ponies and Reserve in the Pleasure and Francesa got 3rd and 4th in the leadline.

He's become quite the jumper too. He's very brave. I didn't get to school at all and he hadn't jumped a fence since July, but he trucked right down to every fence without a peek. Every now and then I toy with selling him and then realize that I absolutely can't replace him. If I don't ride him for a month, it makes no difference. I pull him out of his stall, hop on and it's like I rode him yesterday. I never have to lunge him or do any prep. He's never put a foot wrong or done a mean thing ever. Francesca has run into him numerous times while we are trotting and he just says, "Oh sorry! Let me get out of your way." He is just sweet, sweet, sweet. You should see Sophia ride him and jump him over little fences. It's the cutest thing ever and he moves even more amazing with her 50lbs on him instead of my big butt. I adore him. He's going to make a bang up Children's horse for the girls down the road and Lauren and I both think he will even be able to do the Junior Hunters if they want to. I'm still surprised that no one has snapped up his brother. If he's half the horse, he would still be amazing.
