For those of you interested in the Driving Mode, here are a few photos of the Percheron Mare RUBY in Training with Dave (Mr. C Starz) from being hitched by her faithful Pit Crew, and redied for her back-40 excursion to her enjoyable workout. The cart Dave is using, is a Mennonite made Vehicle called a Forecart. These carts are extremely durable and rugged, for Training purposes, before being hitched to a more comfy Vehicle.

Great minds think alike CDE.... I would certainly enjoy having the Big Star Fella hitched up in a nice Spider Phaeton or Cross Country Vehicle, and taking him for a little spin myself. Hubby has the major portion of enjoyment with Star currently, as I am not able to anymore climb aboard a 17 mount. However I do enjoy watching them both work out in the ring, then heading out cross country for their extra mutual headspace through the bush and over the fields checking fences etc.
Hubby has promised once Ruby departs from training, and we finish the 2 upcoming Dressage Shows on the farm this weekend, that he will indeed resume the Training on my own mid size Warmblood Mare .

Here is one more lovely photo of Miss Ruby. (Such a different and relaxed expression, from when she arrived as a very unsecure and wild filly, being herded off a drovers truck.....with a warning that she was a crazy and unmanagable animal!)

Oh come on! Dave can get the Star man hitched and then you two can go out together with your mid sized model and the big guy!

I look forward to seeing your horse going and you having a blast at it! :)

Heavy Model Forecart was built locally by Mennonite Manufacturer Cleason Martin from St Jacob's Ontario. (This model will also adapt for a pole for a Pair. Plus has a hitch on back for pulling harrows, if you should want to also work the ring whilst in Training mode. ;)

Unfortunately.... :o The Gentleman that owns Ruby is probably going to sell her again. She is going FANTASTIC......However he thinks maybe Driving will take too much preparation, and maybe not his type of thing. :sigh:
Soooooooo Miss Ruby, (3 yr. old Registered Percheron), will probably go up for sale, with the Harness & Forecart included. :sigh:

Believe me guys :lonely: I have agonized about keeping this Mare, and even trading off one of the Warmblood younger Broodmares for her, "which I know he likes". I would sure hate to see her return to what she was when she arrived here! :sigh:
However DH has stated firmly, that although he really enjoys this Mare too, we HAVE to cut back in numbers at our ages, and Ruby would be too tall for me to comfortably harness etc. (Plus DH already has been working on one of the smaller Warmblood Rasputin daughters for me to play with. :cheer: ) I just hope someone gets her , that really appreciates her good Breeding and kind -loving heart and abilities. :,(
