EXPERIENCED help needed in top level "A" show hunter/jumper facility. Candidate MUST be a self-starter with initiative, have experience with "A" level shows and horses, work unsupervised, and be highly dependable. MUST LOVE horses and their welfare. Good, positive attitude and customer service skills. Spanish a plus but NOT required. Housing not provided, position will be salaried commesurate with experience, six days a week. Benefits not currently provided. Position may be upgraded to a management level if earned. Please contact through PM, and details regarding location will be given. Top candidates will be required to work a full day, unpaid, as part of the interview/screening process.

REQUIREMENTS (NOT NEGOTIABLE):

Organized and neat
At least 2-3 years experience with "A" level H/J (references required)
Grooming (to include tacking/untacking/bathing, etc)
Clipping (face/ears/legs a must, ability to body clip a plus)
Mixing/regulating grain intake, feed orders
Shots (IM required, IV a plus)
Cleaning tack, and knowledge of a variety of H/J tack and equipment
Barn Laundry
Bandaging and basic vet care, colic care
Daily visual checks of 60-65 horses, noticing injuries, lost shoes, etc.
Light barn maintenance, including water troughs, fans, etc...
Ability to recognize lameness
Light filing of horse related paperwork
Basic computer skills (excel/word)

Most importantly, candidate must be able to make independent decisions and not wait to be told. If there is something being done on a regular basis and it is no longer "written down" that doesn't mean it doesn't get done. Candidate must be able to recognize problems or situations and act accordingly. We are NOT looking to train anyone!

Serious inquiries only. This is a very good position in a great barn, and candidate will not be micromanaged in any way. We are a top barn, but have a good time, smiles and joking are just fine around here!

ADDED BONUS: If you have a friendly dog, feel free to bring him or her to work!
