Here are some pics of Windsor in his new home. We've been there almost a month and we both LOVE it. I am the only boarder but a good friend may move

I recently switched him to an RB and was worried he'd drop weight, but I think he is looking better than ever with the combo of grass, awesome free choice hay, and the RB. I've cut out a huge amount of grain, which is great for his gut, and my pocketbook!

For some reason my posted images never works so alas here is the whole album! ;)

He looks GREAT! I watched the whole slide show and noticed the last photos when you first got him. What a difference! The look in his eye now is so happy. I love me some Windsor! <3

They are awesome!! He looks fabulous and it's amazing how much weight he's put on. You can really see it in his neck, I think! And very cool if you end up with a friend joining you at the barn - one friend is worth far more than a whole boatload of teenage kids!

As far as posting pictures I think the problem is that when you click "properties" it doesn't display these pictures as a .jpg image, so they won't show here. I had the same problem with Shutterfly and ended up opening a Photobucket account because that one would work for me.

You know, he DOES look happy. I really like pic #2780, don't know why, but I do.

RB....RB....I should know what that stands for, but I don't.

Thanks guys! He has come such a long way, I never would have thought it possible. He loves his new living situation and is doing very well there, I am so glad I took the leap and made the change.

TBF I thought maybe it was webshots.... I will have to try a photobucket account.

OTF, RB is Ration Balancer... I didn't think there was any way I could sustain his weight on an RB but now that he is getting better quality hay and grass, it is working. The RB has really filled in his topline, and he has lost the fat pads he had on his shoulders and bum. He is also noticeably less gassy/girthy/bellyachey! I am sure the extra turnout and forage is helping that too.

I like that pic too..... it shows his softer side!! Even though he likes to pretend he is all aloof and arrogant he is actually a huge snuggle bug. ;)

FG -- He looks awesome! My old man was very difficult to keep in good weight when he was at my trainer's, but for the past several years he has been retired at a place with a similar set-up as yours and now he's an air fern. Even in the winter he gets just two coffee cans of Triple Crown senior twice a day, and now with the lush grass he's down to one can at each feeding. And with all the moving around in turn-out he keeps himself at a good basic level of fitness and muscle tone, and his creaky hocks are much improved. So I bet that in 6 months you'll be even more shocked at the difference in Windsor. Such a better lifestyle for the older ones.

Thanks guys!! I will admit I love staring at him... now that he is all pretty and happy.... it really makes my day!

He is such a funny horse! I am so very glad he has come along so well, and that there were no underlying issues.... all he needed was some good food and some TLC.

And even though we are still working on his feet, they are looking 100% better than they did last fall. It is great to see him cantering around his very large pasture!!

Thanks OTB! He has not had the kindest life, and yet, there is so much wisdom and grace in his presence.

I am so very thankful that I was in the position to take him, and that now he will have a comfortable life. He is definitely a horse that deserves to have a cushy life after so many years of working VERY hard and getting very little care.... and remaining a sensible, compliant, good-minded animal. He is a special boy.
