Sorry guys been gone from an INCREDIBLY busy year but working with a friend on her brand new hard keeper thoroughbred wanted to tell her to run by something I used to use ALL THE TIME on OTTB with her vet to see if he thought it was better except.. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called!! I think this officially makes me a re-rider. Anyways, it comes in a clear plastic bag in a long rectangular cube stuffed as fat as can be and compressed. It is a grass/forage type with added nutrients and you would take a handfull out fluff it up and fill the rest of the 8qt bucket with it. Detailed no? It is not dengie I used to buy it at Agway then at the local feed store then... I went to boarding for way too many years and the barn owner took care of it. Does anyone know what I am talking about or is it one of those lost to the dark ages kind of thing? Was just a filler/calorie type feed and was DEFINATELY a grass feed. |

Was it called High Fiber? I used to purchase something to what you are describing and I believe the name was High Fiber. It came in a clear compressed bag and I know that they started adding additives to it. |

That's what I was going to say - Hi Fiber; I have an old bag in my barn and went to check it this a.m. Everyone liked it but the horse it was intended for, but especially the dog and the IR horse that didn't need it....I was always planning on chucking it in the manure pile but afraid the dog would find it and eat it!

Ah-ha! That is exactly it! Thank you thank you! Geez when I can afford a horse again I am going to be so lost. The whole rule on "You lose it if you don't use it" seems all so very true at the moment.
