Posted on COTH TOO, but I've been using Piedmont Equine Practice for years--and love them to pieces--they are a great "performance oriented vet" that is also very reasonably priced--in the past they came all the way down to Fairfax county for only a select few of us who had long-standing relationships and couldn't really handle my emergency calls all the time, but the primary vet I use (Dr. Bowman) told me when he was out this week that they now are staffed up enough and have the capacity to routinely work in Fairfax County and Prince William County....just thought I'd put the word out there in case people are looking for additional vet options. I know a lot of this type of info travels by word of mouth. I love using them because they also have a clinic to handle emergencies and have vets who do acu and chiro and dental. Just thought I'd spread the good word as my PSA of the day. I'm so doing the happy dance as it's been a PITA to have one vet do my emergency calls and another do all my diagnostic/routine work. If anyone has performance-oriented horses and iin NoVa and is looking for a vet that can handle high-calibre work, not just shots and dispensing meds, I highly recommend them! http://www.piedmontequinepractice.com/ |

I second the shout out for Piedmont. Dr. Anikis is terrific, particularly for lameness issues. He's also easy on the eyes.

All of the piedmont vets are easy on the eyes, females and males alike. Dr. Bowman is my usual vet there and he's been great with all diagnostic work. Love them to pieces! |

Well, of course, but for a vet clinic, the rest of them are above average as well. It's hard to lust after Norrie though when everyone knows his wife and I've seen him at the kid's tball game etc. |

My only experience with Piedmont was when they did the PPE on Rudy. Very happy with them! |
