I love you all!!!!!!!!

In our family we always tell each other, as we never no when we will see the other person again and I always tell my son because if something happens I want him to know the last words where "I Love You". to me that is the most important thing.

My sister lives with that everyday. She and her husband had a fight over him driving home after drinking. So the next morning when she had to go to work he asked her if she would like him to drive her. SHe told him "Why would I want to get in to a car with someone that doesn't caare about himself or anyone else." and she left for work. He got called to work and was killed when his truck that was hauling pipe rolled over. This was over 10 yrs ago and it still eats at her.

Just called my mom and dad. Mr. RR is on a plane for the next 12 hours, but since he's been gone 10 days, a few hours shouldn't kill me. :lonely:

Yesiree. Unfickin believable. We had a guy yesterday who came in for a minor issue.
...I work in outpatient PACU (as of March 2) and we "patch 'em up and send 'em home." ....
Well, after he had been there maybe 2 minutes he starts to look real grey and sweaty and says "my chest hurts a little."
So, we don't have these kind of issues! (joke is our Code Cart has cobwebs)
He was our last patient of the day thank God and the place was empty. phewwww
Within minutes we had a bucketful of cardiologists. They did a sonogram and holy mackerel the fluid around his heart looked like the Hudson River.
This guy didn't come in for heart issues!!!
Anyhow. We don't DO in outpatient PACU what they do in the ED or in ORs or in Special Procedures... :jaw:
He couldn't get moved, and "everybody" was running to get parts to keep this guy alive. If you work with traumas or critical care patients you have the equipment at hand. not us...
Betadine? Who has gallons of Betadine? oh not us...
So they drained of "the Hudson River," anesthesia packed his head in ice, and he got much better. And he said he felt better! He had a chest tube that was draining like crazy. phew
Then, he starts to flatline and well, the rest is exhausting...
They ran him (I kid you not!) off to one of the ORs, cracked his chest, bypassed him, and we all went home. He is so lucky this happened before "everyone" went home. We had the 3 best cardiologists on staff running down the hall with this guy!
The bosses checked on his status today (we kinda assumed the worst) and amazingly they report he is stable, conscious, and remembers some of his experience (he had only a "local" when they put in the chest tube). :o He even remembered "Sharon" who was his Outp PACU nurse :o
Long afternoon...
Today I got in and unbelievable... the Code cart was in use!!! 2 days in a row... One of the senior nurses said she has only seen this twice in 10 years. Amazing...

Life is precious

Thank you for the reminder, I know very well the truth of this reminder.

When my brother passed in 2000 it knocked us all off our block.

Each day is a gift... and we have to appreciate those that are closest to us.

RIP Kyle Ericksen, taken by Melanoma Sept 25, 2000. Age 29. :(
