I wish our governments and society would have taken his advice, maybe we wouldn't be in such dire straits right now..

So true. So true.

I, along with most of the country, am so tired of feeling like I'm never going to get ahead. Times are so uncertain. I'm having to say goodbye to things (my horse, amongst other things) that I've always loved.

Unlike COTH, I feel like I can get some honest advice without being flamed by half of the board. I'm new here but have been a long-time lurker. How can I post about my situation? I might be doing it wrong because everytime I try...I get a response saying you are not allowed to (or something along those lines)! All I want to do is make a proper introduction and get some outside advice. :sigh:

I think that people on this board are very understanding. We don't flame and try to help each other out. I think you will find it much more pleasant and welcoming than TOB.

Welcome!!

Thank you, La Gringa, thank you.

You have no idea how much that means to me, really.

So far, I've gotten some really kind words and some excellent advice. On TOB I would've been called a troll or torn to pieces instantly.

We rarely tear people to pieces here pretty ponies, so pull up a chair and pour yourself a cold one :martini: Welcome to TOC, I'm not sure why you have had trouble introducing yourself but we are happy you have joined us :rose:

I posted the entire tale under Barn Aisle. If you're bored and have alot of time go there. It's quite the read.

As a UVA student, I idolize TJ. It's part of the deal when you sign up, they brainwash you. So, naturally when I hear words of wisdom it processes as "words of TJ". He's good, huh?

And the scary news... the G-20 is proposing a new world currency to take the place of the dollar due to the worldwide economic turmoil... freaky! I bet TJ is doing flips in his coffin right now.

Thomas Jefferson was a man ahead of his time for sure. I happen to love him...my brother went to UVA so I 'get' it about that place :)

However one of my favorite books about Jefferson I still own from my college American Political Theory class, entitled "The Radical Politics of Thomas Jefferson" was so mindblowing for me. I think it's a must read book. It's truly fascinating to read what our "founding fathers" really believed. They would all be rolling over in their graves to see us now.
