Just a quick update on the two horses we had picked up that were underweight and needed mega attention.

When we got Premier

Yesterday. Went in and did the 2'6" baby green stuff with his eyes closed

Went back in and did the 3' and was a pro

Now that he is going well down the lines and jumping from the spot I want, were going to start working on tightening up his front end some. He's about 60% good/ 40% bad at the moment. Best thing about him though is he's got a giant heart.

He is 'different' lol. He has a really nice jump, a 10 canter, and a decent trot, but getting him to do it when you want it can be tricky. He is really sweet, but he will try things, like turning around mid stride and biting your toe. :pissed:

Good lord that pony can jump!

They both look so much better! Isn't it awesome watching them get healthy? That was the most rewarding thing about what I did with Clyde.. even though when he gained his weight back he turned into a fruit loop :psycho:

Rikki's certainly cute enough to do the hunters, but man, with that much scope, he's got pony jumper written all over him! And Premier looks great too! What a wonderful job you've done with both of them.

I keep looking at him thinking he is going to be a pony jumper.

Wow!!! <3 <3

Remind me how long you've had them? Not very darn long, as I recall!!!

They look fabulous and what an amazing change. I wonder - could you *see* these qualities in them when you tried them? I know you said they were diamonds in the rough but that was a pretty quick polish!!

I love that the pony has a 'tude. :teehee:

I think we got them late fall, early winter. Not very long. Were pumping them full of food, lots of good grain and all the hay they could want. Their feet are looking great. Its amazing how much personality they have now. They were both very placid when we went to look at them. It was the trot on Premier and the canter on Rikki that sealed the deal for them. Plus there was pretty much no way we were leaving them there in that condition.

Premier is very laid back and just takes whatever in stride. He is going to be great for one of the juniors next year. Pending they can ride his HUGE trot.

Rikki has a great big personality. He is so funny. If you yell at him, he just plants his feet and refuses to move no matter what. Trips me out. Makes the girl who rides him so mad, but I guess she will learn patience this year!

Hey, OI-- I stopped by the barn for a little while yesterday and watched some of the show. I saw one of your rounds in the greens, Premiere looked good! He did look like he got a little fast but that seemed to be a common thing yesterday, there were some people flying down those lines. Guess that arena can be a little scary on a cold winter day! (I love riding in there though... especially when its cold as hell outside, lol.) I didn't get to see any of the ponies go.

Anyway, congrats!
