I need to un-friend someone. I take it that I just hit the "x" next to the friend on my list...does it send a notification to the newly removed friend? Is my profile still visable to the removed friend? I am new to Facebook and never thought I would want to block someone this soon. |

I don't think they're notified; unless they start reviewing their friend list they may not even notice

Yes, click the X. No, they do not receive a notice. The only way they will still see your profile is if it is set to public. Go to your privacy settings and click "friends only" for everything.

Me too. I agreed to add someone from my high school as a friend, I never talked to her then, and I liked her even less now. All her stuff filled up my home page, and all it was about was her boyfriend and drinking (we graduated in 87 so that shows how much she's grown up). So I removed her. Didn't want to be mean about it by notifying her, but I really had nothing to say to her.Luckily every one else who is on my friend list is actually someone I like to be friends with! |

I have removed a few people too. People that I didn't really know that kept sending me all this stupid stuff, notices, requests for stuff. |

I had dinner last Tuesday night with a friend from high school who friended me on Facebook. We hadn't seen each other since 1975. It was a total blast. Have only had to "unfriend" one person so far. |
