Can you buy and download audiobooks at the Itunes store? I'm driving home to the midwest and wanted a few for the drive.

You *could*, but depending on your taste, there are plenty of audiobooks available for free.

Try the "audiobooks" section in this blog post:

I also heard that the library will "checkout" audio books, yes for your iPod, I am not sure how they do it, but they do. :)

I down load books from our US library. In our case, you need a library card and a pin number. We downloaded a special bit of software that allows the book to live on your computer for (in our case) one week.

Each book that you download has its own rules. Some you are allowed to burn onto CDs, some you can put in your MP3 files, and others you can just listen to, and after a week they disappear. Really neat technology. My children are listening to the entire Magic Treehouse series. We are on book #32. :psycho: Only 8 more to go!!

You used to be able to get them "on tape" at Cracker Barrel in one town and return them to a Cracker Barrel in another town so you would essentially rent them. I'm sure they have upgraded with the times and now have them on CD.

Plus you can't beat HAVING to stop at Cracker Barrel because you can get apple pie!
