Weather may have been a factor. No survivors. :(

Guys, we just moved from that neighborhood. We lived a block away. Hubby and I walked that street with baby and doggie, every day. We sold the house in September and are at my mom's while looking for a new place.

We are devastated. It is a lovely community, close-knit, old-fashioned........

Just wanted to add, the weather here is horrid. Wind, sleet, rain, schools and businesses were all closed today.

Oh I am so sad I cannot sleep. :(

One person on the ground was killed, two others injured. Everyone in the plane died. It is amazing that there were not more fatalities. There is a very large field (10-15 acres) immediately behind the houses that were hit. You can't help but wonder if perhaps the pilot was aiming for it. As sad as it is, it is amazing that the plane did not hit the middle of town which was only a street away. It is in a rural area, but the hamlet itself is quite populated. Could have been much worse I suppose.

It is such a "small town america" type place-- one intersection, two diners, and folks who have lived there for their entire lives. Very peaceful and quiet and tranquil.

I'm so sad for the people on board, and their families. They have not listed names as of yet but it seems there were quite a few buffalonians on the plane. My husband spent last night frantically trying to reach a co-worker and friend who was flying from newark, and who thankfully caught and earlier plane.

I'm also sad that the community is now going to have to endure an onslaught of media attention, investigators, etc. Of course that is natural but it is hard to imagine that this tiny tiny village is going to be full of chaos now for awhile.

We are glad we were still not at the house, as selfish as that sounds.... after all we've been through this past year, witnessing this all firsthand would not have been on the top of my "to do" lists. I can only imagine how scary it is over there right now.

Kudos to all the first responders. News coverage started here at 10:30 and it seemed like firefighters, troopers, police and EMTs were all very well organized, very calm, and very systematic. Don't think it could have been handled better. The plane went down about a half block from the fire station so at least response was quick!

It is very weird, very surreal. It is just hard to imagine. It was such a cozy, peaceful neighborhood.

From the people we've talked to in the neighborhood, everyone is obviously shaken up. There is still quite a bit of smoke and fire and some have been evacuated but people are relatively ok.

Win is stabled about 3 miles from the crash site, not sure I will be able to get through to him today. I guess a lot of roads are closed. Man I need some Vitamin H right about now!

It was horribly windy yesterday/last night too. I am saddened by this today. The did say though, that it was lucky that only one house was hit, it could have wiped out an entire block. Thank God it didn't. Still very sad for those that perished.

Yes it seems it just went straight down. It easily could have wiped out the whole neighborhood.

It is just bizarre. So very sad.

Just after the Hudson river miracle! How sad indeed! I too hate flying and have driven across the USA and back several times to avoid it! But to do that you need time! :mallet:

How eerie for you Flash! Guess the best news is that only one house was hit. Time from the tower communication to crash was so short. Hope they figure out what happened!

Jingles to all!
