No, we have to bring food from home, as there is very rarely time to get off the airplane between flights to buy food. The bad part is that we have no refrigeration or microwaves, so we're rather limited as to what we can bring. One of the reasons I stopped doing multi-day trips was that I so got tired of carting around a lunch box full of 4 days worth of meals, plus the ice bags to keep it cold, utensils, bowl, etc. On the plus side, I can now cook an almost-gourmet meal on a coffee pot burner ;)
Oh my gosh I had no idea you guys had it so rough! That bites man!

I also wonder about this logic that airlines should feed their employees. Other than the restaurant industry, I can't think of many industries where employers are expected to feed their employees on a regular basis. I think it would be *great* if my office gave me free food, and sometimes I do manage to scrounge some catering leftovers, but I'd never *expect* them to feed me.
In every other industry, though, the employer is required to provide lunch hours and breaks- so you have the opportunity to go purchase or prepare food for yourself. Airlines operate under the Railway Labor Act, which means airline employees don't get to enjoy the labor laws that the rest of the country's work force does, so no lunch hours, breaks, overtime, etc for us.

I certainly don't *expect* my employer to feed me, but it would be nice if at some point during my 14 hour day I could eat something. I think the concept of airlines feeding crews began because crews are 'held captive' on the plane but as far as I know only international flight crews are provided with meals now. Crews frequently have no access to restaurants and/or ways to store or prepare food for several days at a time, and I do think that is unreasonable.

Exactly. If my employer kept me locked in my office with no way to keep food cold, or warm food up, I'd definitely expect them to provide something for me to eat. I can't believe they can get away with NOT providing meals.

The difference, I think, is that the average employee for a random company has access to a place to buy food. Harder when you are working in an airplane. :teehee:

What is a Mojo??????

Not the Austin Powers kind I mean.

And yes, that sux. Stealing soneone else's food..epsecially leftovers.. is sort of like... I dunno.. wearing a pair of panties you found in the ladies room.. you just.. wouldn't.

Re: the empty bottles. When my brother was a kid, he stole my dad's beer but put the caps back on the empties and put them back in the box (us Canadians have the famous two-four, a 24 box of beer). Dad didn't drink much beer, maybe a 24 a year- and when he finally found out, he sort of thought it was funny/clever. After that, he would lift the end of the box to see if there were *full* beers in there, so brother would fill the empties up with water. :teehee: Again, it was more *funny* than anything, and he was a kid sneaking a few beers. Must've been some awful alcoholic to do that at an office, though!!!

Sorry about your Mojo bars. At work I keep stuff like that in my desk drawer, or they would be gone in our office too. A bunch of damn gremlins in the office.

I went to Whole Foods last night to try to buy back my mojo and they were all sold out. I'm going to have to wait a little longer to get my mojo, it appears.

Nobody puts Rachel's Mojo in the corner!

What are these things anyway? They must be great, for you to be going hunting for them!

Kroger carries Mojo bars, and Target carries the 6 packs of the peanut butter pretzel.

I love them, and have gotten mr. tarragon hooked on them as well. My favorite is the mixed nut and the fruit and nut ones.

Good luck getting your Mojo back, RH! I know my mornings wouldn't be the same without them.
