:sigh: So I'm so slammed I don't have time to go out and find food and I reached over to my shelf to grab a mojo bar from the box I brought in last week and it's gone :pissed:  :sigh:

What is wrong with people? Everyone who works here is paid a living wage. :argh:

That sucks! Food theaving at work is just crappy :censored: :censored:
I'm not okay with people who take my food at work. Even if it's not my personal food, even if it's food or beer I have for a meeting, I get rather pissed when it disappears. I tend to take action by sending angry lab-wide emails.

Last year about this time, I had a box of tagalong Girlscout cookies on the corner of my desk at work, just waiting for when I had a crappy day. I was having such a crappy day and decided it was time to open the box...only to discover that something had chewed through the corner of the box, gone into the box and eaten the top layer of chocolate off of all the cookies. :argh: We apparently have a clan of chocolate-loving mice in the building...my office-mate lost 2/3rds of a Hershey's bar recently too...

I sympathize, but can I just say that I got a giggle out of someone stealing your mojo? :)

What is WITH people!

I had someone at the office steal x-mas wrapped bottles of wine (gifts for the staff) out from under my desk. they drank the wine and put the empty bottles back in the gift bag. I nearly GAVE someone an empty bottle of wine and had to make up a lame excuse and run out to buy replacements at lunch. I was mortified.

Who DOES that?!

Someone stole 40 coupons for free Krispy Kremes. We, as a unit, decided to give them to charity rather than eat donuts ourselves. Sure enough, someone stole all 40 today.
Some people suck.

I have to say, that's sort of hilarious. I mean, who would think to put the empty bottles back? Do you work with Michael Scott? :teehee: :teehee: :teehee:

I was briefly amused, then annoyed, then saddened. I figure anyone who is that desperate is probably an alcoholic, and must be pretty miserable to do something like steal Christmas wine. :(

The bottles were in a bag with UNWRAPPED boxes of chocolates that I also gave out. Someone passed over the chocolate to take the wine. So clearly, we know the theif wasn't me... as I will *ALWAYS* go right to the chocolates, cheese, and beer... wine be damned!

I can totally understand being in the office late, late at night and being starved and desperate. Going into the communal fridge, taking out something that appears to have been there for a while/left over/fungible, eating it, leaving a note saying you were desperate, and then replacing it IMMEDIATELY the next day.

I wouldn't do this due to my germ paranoia, but I've been at the firm late at night when I was dizzy, punchy, and desperate and thought about it.

But to EAT ALL OF SOMETHING, to NOT LEAVE A NOTE, and to NOT IMMEDIATELY REPLACE IT?! That is just WRONG. It's wrong!

I tell myself that the only reason someone would steal under those circumstances was if they had a real substance abuse problem and truly couldn't help themselves. I feel bad for someone who is in such dire straits that they need to steal x-mas wine!

Sorry.

I did find that mildly funny - what an asshat to put the empties back.

I had collected the Purina Coupons to give to a Rescue - and someone swiped those. :duh: Nuther Asshat.

RH I have 2 tacos here I did not finish for lunch - sending them to you in spirit!!!

We had a lunch thief at my first job out of university. We eventually figured out that it was the OFFICE MANAGER... she couldn't figure out why we were so pissed. :psycho:
