Can you all recommend a SUPER WARM BLANKET for our little orphan donkey? I'll do the research on size, etc., but what brand and/or model would be the warmest? She's wearing a dog coat at the moment at night. I'm very out of touch with blankets, as you can tell. :teehee:

THANK YOU!

CDE likes the Schneider Saddlery ones...sstack.com..I've heard a few others talk about them too

http://www.sstack.com/jump.jsp?level=3&itemID=550&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=91&iSubCat=550

THEY seem to be on the LESS expensive side too...

MAYBE someone has an extra PONY one they can send to you???? Maybe you could post this in the Classified section???? as a WANTED??? DO YOU KNOW WHAT SIZE SHE'D BE?????

I like Horse.com too...I've gotten a few off of that site...

GOOD LUCK..

HH :)

All my blankets and sheets are Rambo's and they are extremely durable, waterproof, etc. But I have a Schneider's turnout fly sheet and it's great. Schneider's is much more reasonably priced, so if the little dear only needs it for this season, then I'd go with that.

THANK YOU, EVERYBODY! :rose:

We've ordered a blanket from Schneiders. She measures 36" from the center of her chest to her bony little butt, so we got the next bigger size...I have a feeling she will swim in it, but at least it will cover her and I don't think she can get tangled in the belly band.

I don't know how those of you with multiple horses manage to keep them blanketed, much less having several blankets for each one! I'm all :psycho: just trying to get one little donkey suitably dressed for the cold. And you KNOW I'll post a picture or two when it arrives and we get her all dressed up, though it might be a picture of a blanket wearing a donkey! :teehee:

For extra warmth, when I worked at the vet clinic, we would put fleece under the blankets. You can buy it at the fabric store. we just doubled it up and put it under the blanket, pinning it at the chest (and you can attach it to the blanket at other points if you feel you need to).
