I LOVE my TS low rise cotton schooling breeches. LOVE THEM. However, I don't love the way they wear. I get maybe, maybe a year out of each pair. And I'm not hard on my clothes...I have work pants that are over 5 years old and some stuff from high school. I wash them on cold and hang them dry, always. And yet, they wear out. I have no problem buying two or three new pair at $135.00 to show in, will probably buy two beige and a rust in the near future. BUT I cannot justify that for schooling. I'm riding 5 days a week now that the horse is closer(and not sold...) and I'd like an economical but still cute and comfy schooling breech. I'm thinking the TuffRider microcords...they come in a low rise and fun colors and are only $50/pair. Suggestions?

I have some devon air side zips and they are cotton and have lasted years. Very comfy and like $30.

Grand Prix side zips. They come in beige, brown, grey and purple but are around $75 a pair I think. I like mine and they're a bit thicker so hold up better, but i still think the TS are the most flattering.

Do you have a link to the TuffRider microcords that come in colours? Are they size zip?

On course makes a cotton side zip and they are pretty comfy and inexpensive. I've had mine since college and they've worn pretty well.

I don't know about the microcords, but the Tough Riders that my kids have wear like iron and wash really well.

Buy one pair and try them out. That way you won't be out too much money if they aren't great.

I still have a pair of On Course Cotton Naturals from my IHSA days. They are, hands down, my favorite schooling breeches. Over the years, the quality has declined :( the new ones aren't as tough as the old ones-- but they are still my favorites.

I've had good durability from O'Keaheys pulls ons, which I LOFF LOFF LOFF. They are really tough to find though.

I also have a pair of Tropical Riders, which I love, but the company frankly treated me really poorly so they're my last pair and I don't recommend dealing with them.

If you're a hunter person, you won't like how they look. But every Irideon product I own wears like iron. I only own two pairs of the summer-weight schooling tights and two pairs of the Wind Pro fleece breeches, and I ride 4-5x weekly as well. All are going strong with two years of use.
