Does anyone have the contact info for them? I cant find mine anywhere. Yesterday while I was getting on a horse the horse reared twice and hit me in the side of the head with her neck and it snapped open the chin strap on my helmet and sent it flying. I landed and hit my now bare head on the ground. The buckle is not broke, it just gave under the pressure I guess. Wondering it they might replace it. Im really hoping mine is just defective and they all arent that flimsy.

I don't have the information but that sounds like a fairly ineffective design. The whole point of the strap is to keep the helet ON your head! I am glad you're okay. I'd call the tack shop where you bought the helmet, they should know how to contact GPA.

Well Im alive, not so sure about ok, lol. I have a minor concussion and whiplash and my vision in one eye is still a little blurry. Probably didnt help that after I got pitched I still rode, boy horse people are so not bright :innocent:

Edit: Just got back from Dover. They wont do anything about my helmet and wont give me the info to call the manufacturer. Said there is nothing wrong with it. I explained to her exactly what happened and she said no way it could have come undone. Grr. Now what?

I'm astounded that she wouldn't just give you the contact info. for the manufacturer. It's absolutely not her call to decide whether the accident was due to design flaw, a defective helmet, or user error in snapping the chin strap. I would call Dover's customer service number and see if they'll give it to you over the phone. Otherwise, if a Google search won't get you the info., I would call up another tack shop like Bevals and see if they'll give it to you. They won't know that you didn't buy the helmet from them.

Oh no, take it easy on yourself! Please. Head injuries are no joke!

Jeez, I don't know why Dover wouldn't give you the info. What skin off their nose is it? That's ridiculous. Call the 800 number and ask for a manager if they don't cooperate. Ridiculous!

OI, nothing to add regarding GPA, but just wanted to say I hope you are feeling better ASAP! Take care of yourself, get lots of rest and really... don't do too much! Head injuries are bad news!

Hugs!

Delia, thanks so much. Usually Im good with google but my brain is still a little mushy. Ill contact them tomorrow.

Im taking it easy, of course this crappy weather is really helping.

Lady at Dover said there was no way that the helmet had come undone. She said it had to have been not closed all the way or not at all. This was the third horse I had been on in a row so I am absolutely positive that my chin strap was buckled. I asked her what she would do in my position, if she had ended up in the er because a $300 helmet didnt do its job. :pissed:
