I know it's a very, very little thing in the grand scheme, but she's my little girl and I'm proud of her :woot:

My coming three year old filly, little princess Livvie, wore a saddle today for the first time and was so good about it. She stood to be tacked up like a real horse, and I thought she'd react when she started moving, but nope, she just marched up to the ring like there was nothing new. The first time she even looked like she noticed it was when she picked up the trot on the lunge line and the saddleflaps started flapping a bit. She just kept trotting but rolled her eye to look back over her shoulder like "what is all that racket?" and got a leetle bit more suspension :teehee: . She didn't even buck in the canter! It was such a non-event to the princess. :cheer:

I hope she stays so nonchalant about the rest of her training :luck:

I'll try to get some pictures, but it's going to be tough to hold the filly and the camera. Plus I just got back from WEF- give me a day to actually get to the barn :innocent:

I'll try to remember to take my camera to the barn in the morning.

No pictures yet- I had my camera in my car all week but couldn't seem to remember to take it out. Plus, it's hard for me to hold the filly and the camera at the same time ;)

I introduced side reins to our little lunging session yesterday. This filly is just fun to watch as she figures things out! The side reins were very long of course, but she just slowly stretched her neck out to test them, then turned her head from one side to the other to test them that way, very thoughtfully and methodically, then went on about her merry little way. She did walk, trot and canter on the lunge line and never once bumped herself in the mouth or acted bothered by the side reins in any way, except to start to follow the bit down and stretch over her topline a bit more. My little girl is just so clever :cheer:
