We went to see Slum Dog Millionaire last night. Wow and wow. It was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it - like as in go tonight  There seem to be so many great movies out there right now that I want to see.

What have you seen? Like or not so much :innocent:

I think The Reader will be next. Or Doubt. Or Revolutionary Road. Or the one with Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Or...

I wanna see Slumdog! I have to drive over an hour to see it - forget THAT :pissed:

Rented:

Mamma Mia (cute musical, I won't watch it twice ;) )

Wall-E (cute, I thought it was medium)

The X-Files - 2nd one (yuck. I love the X-files, and was disappointed, but would watch it again :teehee: )

Lars and the Real Girl (yes! yes!) especially for those now freezing up North :teehee:

Get Smart (way not as good as the TV show :spew: but might be good if you're not as old as me :innocent: )

Proof (Gwyneth Paltrow? The play was waaaay better. Good story though)

Haven't gone out to see any lately. Too cold.

January 30th a romantic comedy is coming out about some female exec that gets sent to Minnesota (brrr). Looks funny. I'm going (midday matinee!)

BH1, you need to drive that hour to see Slumdog... Just be advised, its REALLY INTENSE! Like, there are no breaks at all. It was funny - we came out of the movie sure that it was like 4 hours long but its just over 2 or something like that - it just seemed so long because there was SO MUCH STUFF packed in it! VERY GOOD! I want to see it again!

I forgot to recommend Man On Wire.

Like a 60s bank robbery movie with Steve McQueen. Quite a crime :o

theatre or video BH? I haven't heard of it.

Kikki, I'm already thinking about seeing it again as well. It was intense, wasn't it? Fantastic!

Has anyone seen the Reader yet?

Awww...I was a huge X-Phile (it's actually what got me on the internet and the official board was my first BB experience. You think COTH gets uptight...heh.) I saw the movie last weekend and thought it was pretty good. Not OMG that is so amazing...but an icky, creepy story. Scully was a little whiny. Mulder a little pathetic, but they should be after what they'd gone through.

I guess I couldn't imagine a movie trying to continue the mythology, so I expected an extended TV episode...which is what I got. I was also told that is was horrible...so I was expecting that as well and was pleasantly surprised.

I haven't seen much in the theater lately...and haven't heard of anything that makes me want to go see it (not surprising as I don't have cable so I never see ads for movies). I do know that if I see one more promo for 'the Unborn' or whatever the heck that creepy ass movie that is named, I'm going to break my computer monitor (thanks, myspace) or walk out of the theater. What kind of sick bastard puts that trailer on a movie like Twilight? Good lord...I was sooooooo freaked out.

I really want to see the following:
Hotel for Dogs
Bride Wars
He's Just Not That Into You

I'd kind of like to see Inkheart, but the book was so amazing, I don't want the movie to ruin it!

DVD (nobody has video anymore ;) )

Man on Wire is a documentary, but the story is a lot like a heist.

I have a fear of heights, so some of the shots were scary for me :jaw:

NEW IN TOWN is the movie I'm going to see when it comes out. Looks like a good pick for a cheap midday matinee.
