So.... they guy that builds the purses and briefcases that Dyrk does his artwork on was telling us about this deal that apparently is going on "in all the big cities". Supposedly you "rent" a purse by a month to month basis with an option to pay a "damage waiver" monthly as well.

Have any of you big city gals heard of this?

I haven't done it myself but know someone who has. This was the website she went to http://www.bagborroworsteal.com/ I guess it also gives you the option to buy the purse once your rental is over.

It was mentioned by jennifer hudson's character in the SATC movie. :)

I have a serious problem with handbags....I just dropped mucho on this bag (in red <3 )...

but I wouldn't want to have to give them back and I can't imagine the interest rates are low. So it would take you years to pay off some of those bags. I think I'd rather have a good fake for less money.

I don't know I think I would love this! I wonder what would happen if you broke it. I guess you would have to buy it! That would suck as some of those bags are worth over 1000 ouch :o

HH-That's too funny because I kept finding it in black but couldn't find it in red ANYWHERE! Mom went into NYC and called me from Macy's saying I was "going to owe her big time" because she found it for me. Definately a huge splurge, but my first real one as Dr. JF. I just thought it was so classy and would never go out of style...

Now I am stalking this one in blue for spring (even though I just got the red one last week)...

I <3 <3 handbags...its a problem.... CDE-there's an option to buy gently used ones on the site, that cuold be a good deal. Or if its something Macys/Dillards carries, wait until the have their friends and family sale in the spring and you can get 20-30% off coach etc.

Thank you so much for your input! I am such a bumpkin, I had never heard of such a thing :shoot:

The guy that is going to do it is a custom boot maker and has been making purses lately. They are very western, so I don't know if they would appeal to anyone here, but when he gets it up and running I will let you all know the website.

Dr. JF -- Get thee to a Coach outlet, pronto! I went to one in New Hope, PA last year and the deals were spectacular. I got 4 beautiful bags for myself, mom, sis, and niece for under $200 total.

It's a straight shot on whatever road leads over that cute little bridge into the heart of Lambertville, NJ. I was in Lambertville for work, and the B&B I was staying at told me about this outlet mall, which was about a 10 minute drive from the bridge. I can't remember the name, but the outlets are on both sides of the street. There's also Bose, Brooks Brothers, Jones New York, and much, much more.

Edited to add that I just found it on Google: Penn's Purchase Factory Outlet Village, 5861 York Rd, Rte. 202, Lahaska 18931. (215) 794-0300.
Consider yourself enabled! :innocent:

WOW, a "coach house"...I can see it now..

Newest intern found face down in a pool of her own laughter...the room smelling of freshly cut and dyed Leather....the letters C O A C H branded into her left forearm...her pockets were filled with wallets and receipts...This is one of the BIGGEST "COACH HOUSES" that we've stumbled upon.... I've never seen anything like this..... NOW, back to you Charlie
