It sounds like the pilot and crew did an amazing job. They are to be credited with the fact that there were no casualties.

Amazing job by the pilots. My dad was a pilot, and was killed in a crash when I was just 2 yrs old. he was not flying the plane, he was riding on it trying to get home for Thanksgiving. I am always happy when I see these ones that have no casualties!

I kind of find it reassuring. Some of you may know I'm a flight attendant and Mr t. is a pilot. To me, it's almost comforting to see incidents like this where even in catastrophic circumstances, the crew's training and endless drilling of every possible scenario kicks in and every person on that aircraft gets to walk away.

Great job by that crew, and by the NYC emergency personnel

I hope they give the pilot, co-pilot and crew members civilian medals of honor (what ever they are called). I couldn't believe it when I saw the pictures...how he didnt flip that plane, I just don't know.

And kudos to the passengers for remaining calm enough so that everyone could get out. I'm pretty sure I would have peed my pants if when the pilot said "'Brace for impact because we're going down"...

A couple of passengers, interviewed on CNN, said the crew did a great job of getting everyone off quickly. Nobody had bad comments about the crew. It was nice to hear the skipper himself walked through the sinking plane - twice - to make sure everyone was off.

MAR, I am sorry to read you lost your dad.

IT was a true Miracle. Eye witnesses said that it stayed afloat until the very last passenger was off.
It is some kind of record to go in the water at that speed, seriously a good pilot to dead stick that puppy in so incredibly well.
All those people had a huge group of guardian angels with them.
Gave me good bumps to think about it.
The first responders were amazing as well! God bless them all.... and I think he did! :cloud9:

It was a miracle...

I agree that the pilots and crew should all get some type of heroism recognition.

Simply an amazing job of staying calm, setting the plane down, and getting all passengers off safely.
The doors were open within seconds of 'landing' - everyone mentioned how calm the pilots and crew were. I did hear that some passengers started to get a bit hysterical, but were quickly calmed by the crew and refocused on getting out and getting on a responder boat safely.

Huge Kudos to the pilots and crew.

I keep looking at the pictures and can't believe it. Wow, talk about a miracle. I still can't believe everyone walked away from it...

Unfortunately its digging up sad memories here in Lex of the Comair crash in Aug 06

AMAZING FLYING!!!!!

I think that is the first time in my life time a plane has "left the ground" and crashed without casualties. To me this may be as much a memory as some of the other tragedies (OK City, 9/11, etc) for it's amazing heroism and GOOD ending. Who'd a thunk, a plane can be safely landed in water.

I agree that man deserves a medal!!!
