Anyone care to share any photos of there '06 babies? Also, what are your plans for them in their 3 year old year?

Here is my girl. She was lightly started this fall and will go back to the training barn this spring. Hopefully, she will make it to a few shows under saddle in the fall, we will see. She is a doll and is very affectionately called "the princess" here around the farm. Right now, she looks like a princess is dire need of a salon, but I am looking forward to seeing her as a 3 year old once she is all slick and shinny again!

This is my '06 filly by De Laurentis. She is also known as the princess, and just like you said, cshmouse, "definitely in need of a salon"! :teehee:

I recently started a bit of ground work with her, and she's off to be started in March. I'm planning on light work 2-3 days a week for summer, and she might go to some of the fall shows- not to show but just school and see the big world. She's headed for the dressage ring.

Wow! Everyone's baby's look beautiful! CSHmouse, that's not Cashew is it? If so, I remember seeing her before she was weaned! She looks fantastic!!!

Mine was lightly backed in August '08 and has been just hanging out growing. I try to fight the battle of the long mane but I am loosing this winter - it drives me nuts not having a proper length of mane on the girl though! I will be brave and share some wooly pics of my little girl, who is my princess too but I most often refer to her as my duckling or bunny!

Here she is undersaddle in Aug;

A couple of her nice and wooly from this December, please ignore the water going down her neck - I got a little over zealous with trying to tame her mane over!!!! She is modeling her End of the Year MD ribbon.

My plan with her next year is to start her back up in late Spring / early Summer and see how she does!

Wow...what lovely '06-ers.

I'll see if I can get some of the latest pictures of River from his owner. Nothing as exciting as At Last's trotting under saddle and year end pictures, but River is talking some walks with me aboard.

Sadly, his mane has grown out again :sigh: and the thought of having to deal with it (and him) makes me want to :spew: . He's also sort of brown-ish all over from enjoying pasture life with all that white on him. :mallet: Oh well, let him enjoy himself, I suppose.

Plans are to send him off in April or May for 30-60 days and then get to work. I also want to take him to the shows this year, just to tag along. Might as well get the screaming youngster days out of the way as soon as possible, non? Depending on how all that goes, I may try riding him in the schooling rings and hope to get a few flat classes under our belt by the end of the year.

Hey, how is it that so many of these '06 chickadees are named "Princess"? :teehee: :teehee: :teehee: :teehee: I have one too!

Well she is really Lola, but she is our princess. I don't have any good photos of her, but here are some "around the ranch" ones.

She is Flemmingh x Rubenstein, her registered name is Brilliante. She broke her back as a weanling and isn't able to be ridden, but I am going to drive her. She is doing some baby long lining now and will be hooked in the spring. I would like her to look at least a bit fit for her inspection! She is about 16.3 now, I keep telling her to knock off that growing business. I am planning to breed her to Alexandro P, a Gelders stallion this year.

:rose: Here is another of the Pacific Star STV's Starlett's called Nina, that has just recently come into the London area, from Nova Scotia. This pic was taken the other day at her 10th day under saddle.

What lovely youngsters!!

My '06ers are out with my show family. I'll try to get some recent pictures of them. They are pretty furry but they DO have short manes. ;)

AtLast, she looks awesome!! Or, should I say, At Last looks awesome? I love that you had her model her ribbon. I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that. :P

So, I got some pictures of River today (taken 1/3). He's not nearly as far along as some of the others as he only gets 'riding' work once a week, but we're slowly making our way somewhere.

Something's wrong with this picture....

And because I love his sweet little expression:

He's still not a fan of the stirrups banging around on his side when I lead him at a trot...so we'll be working on that for a while. One of these days, I'm going to have to give up the person leading him. He stands like a rock at the mounting block...but I'm still pretty attached to not having to use my legs for go or to 'steer' him. I guess we'll just keep on plugging along. He's let me know what he's ready for...so I'll just keep trying to listen to him.

Some lovely kids. And I have some three year olds in all different stages. Some lightly stared, a couple who are too tall and gangly to do much of anything. Plans are to get the more mature ones out and to a few shows this season.

CDE; what a great back ground. I am envious of all the mature trees in your paddocks and grass... we have over a foot of snow and today is -25 with the windchill. So any riding that was going on last week has come to a hault with the bitter cold temps this week.

He's by Sempatico out of a breeding stock paint mare named Moonpie (his name is Moonriver). He's got a pretty terrific brain in his head and a 'whatever' attitude. I can't wait to see what he'll be like. I can only hope he has half the trot your mare seems to have. :o
