I adore my ones from Beval--they're the ones with the studs. You can get interchangeable inserts that Velcro in—totally worth it to order the ones with that come with the sheepskin and then buy the neoprene and/or leather inserts for rainy/muddy days. They’re super easy to put on and off, and hold up great!

I see them quite a bit on e-bay for great prices!

I have a lovely set of FTE Italian leather open-fronts I bought on eBay for $60. They've been wonderful. I also recommend Beval's equitation boots; if you want fleece, they have a lovely subtle boot that has just a bit of fleece. I find that unless you have a very solid white horse with a lot of bone, the Italias make it look like a sheep is humping your horse's leg.

I really like my Hadfield's boots best, but the Beval baghide ones are also nice; even their fleece lined ones are quite lovely due to the conservative styling (because I agree that the sheep humping impression is Not Good!)

I have the Beval Baghide ones too. I'm not a fan of the fleece, but these are very conservative. I also have a set of Hadfields boots, and they're absolutely stunning. I now use the Beval ones for schooling because they just seem so workmanlike.

I HAD the hadfields ones until someone snagged them. Really liked them and have never found a suitable replacement that looked nice on a hunter type eq horse.

Arc De Triomphe makes some beautiful (and inexpensive) eq boots. I believe they are only available with neoprene lining but that helps keep the cost down. Here is a link...

I have Beval boots. Quite like them and the insert option is a nice way to be able to change it up a bit.

I want the T-Boot Luxes.

Really, really bad.
Thankfully no eq until next year, so I can save up for them or maybe stumble upon a pair on ebay.

I have a small problem with pretty leather boots... (yes, I would have to admit that it is similar to the "little problem" I have with buying pretty bridles.) I have a gear bag full of them :innocent:

When I got my horse, he was a jumper ... so of course he needed the proper jumper boots, and I got him the Gygax star boots that were all the rage then. (Still love those boots, BTW.) Then I decided that a classic leather look was better, and got the big fluffy sheepskin lined Beval boots that were so popular; I have to admit I loved those too, and with all that fluffy sheepskin, he never even *thought* about getting a rub. But then of course, the "sheep humping your horse's leg" look was out, and Eskies were in, so he got those - though he didn't wear them long, they rubbed like crazy. (Had the same problem with the regular T boots, too ... :sigh: )

Horse went on to do the hunters and the eq. Obviously can't use anything for the hunters, but could still indulge in the boot obsession for the eq, as long as they were understated and elegant... so went back to leather boots with the nice Beval baghide ones, very pretty, very conservative. I still use those for the eq sometimes, if I want a sheepskin lined boot (where the sheepskin doesn't show, but still protects.) Then, hubby heard how much I like Hadfields and got me a set of their boots... they are leather lined, and easier to keep clean, and they were my favorites...

Well, until like Pirateer... I saw the Luxe boots, and had to have them.

Luckily I found them on Ebay so I saved a little money. Enough to justify the purchase, anyway. Well, at least in my mind.

Go get 'em, Pirate... I'm tellin' ya - they're awesome <3
