It is. I was leading low adult jumper rider for the series. I was very excited! But it got very stressful at the end Friday watching the classic finish & seeing how people would place. I almost came over Sat before the awards (I was walking up to the GP ring) & saw people by your barn, but then I didn't want to scare you. I got a micro-derm abrasion compliments of Lamplight when I slid on my face across ring 6 Friday morning after I tried to flip over the 1st jump. I was not looking too good. Luckily the "win" pictures are from a distance as the right side of my face is swollen & a mess.

I've had that happen lots of times over the years. Recently it happened to my daughter. The judge was watching her trot around the corner and she took her leg off and the pony started to break to a walk. The judge very deliberately turned around so he didn't see it and placed her third. His turn away was so obvious that it cracked me up. In the next class where she was perfect he placed her first. I can't wait to see the new guy!!! Hurry up with those pictures. What are the details on him? Breeding, size, hopes for the future? |

At the first show Amigo and I went to for our association, in our Equitation class, I tightened up my roll-back a little too much and jumped the wrong last fence. I was later announced in 5th place. My mother and I were both shocked and I immediately went over to the announcer to say that there must have been some mistake. The announcer then sent a runner over to the judge, and the runner came back and said that the judge hadn't seen the wrong fence, but since I announced the problem, that I should keep the ribbon for my honesty. For the rest of the day, I had people coming up to me thanking me for my honesty, telling me how much I was like my sister, etc. I ended up turning the ribbon back in, even though the points still counted. I know what it feels like to be robbed, and the girl who I thought should have gotten the 5 was very upset because it was her last year on the horse and as a junior. Her mother was the first one to come up and thank me for the honesty. Sometimes, little things like that make you feel very happy. |
