So I got my harrisburg prize book a few weeks back and wanted to work some crystal ball magic. I want to get an idea of what you guys think will be the cut off points for this year. I got a theory of sorts but wanted to calibrate with other who are also trying to get in. Anyone want to brainstorm??? :martini:

Younger a/o for harrisburg were 1738 & the older a/o was 1302...
Younger a/o for washington were 1368 & the older a/o was 1437...

My theory is it took about 150 more points to get into devon this year from last so I was going to add 150 on to these totals as a guessamit for this year. I have not really heard anything from anyone this year as to if they are going or not so what do you guys think?

A little less for WIHS. We had some last minute scratches.

yes, yes, she raises her hand, I was the 1738 cut off last year for harrisburg and that was lower than the year before 1900. WIHS usually requires less. I didn't campaign enough to get into Hburg, but I'm hoping to go to WIHS.

Does anyone know what the cutoff was last year for the National? I know they are taking the top ten (I think Large Juniors, Small Juniors, Older A/Os, Younger A/Os), based on 15 shows from December 1 2007 through September 1 2008.

As for this year, it's easy to look at National standings, but there are many "top 10's" that may not enter, or that have (in some cases far) more than 15 shows.

The national took whoever came to show last year because it really wasn't considered a real final down in wellington so there was no cut off. I know for my personal feeling that it will never be the "national" we've come to know in the past. If its not at the Garden then it totally looses that important show prestige. I'm sure there will be people who will show from both divisions but I sort of get the feeling it will be just like another horse show and not a real final.

Rachel good luck getting into washington. I'm trying for harrisburg myself. I'm :luck: for the both of us!

Of course this is a sport hardly affected by costs, BUT, the outrageous cost of showing at Washington this year may have the numbers down . . . it's also not an ideal situation for the ones that need some prep.

Thats part of the reason why I choose harrisburg instead of washington. They want alot of money for the divisions, plus the money pay back is not as good either. I understand part of its for charty but they just keep raising the prices.

Does anyone know what the cutoff was for the Adult Hunter Finals and how many they took off the wait list? We've got someone in the barn that really wants to go!

for WIHS or NAL?

WIHS last year it was 220. Every year we always have people nominate (it's free to nominate yourself for the child/adult finals...I don't think people realize that. I always get checks for $150. lol) and then don't enter, also lots of last minute scratches due to lameness/other issues. In the book it seems like we had about 5 scratches in the adults after nomination, same as younger A/Os.

Several years ago I was first on the wait list for the A/A Finals at WIHS and got in. I think 3 or 4 of us got in off the wait list that year.
