 Twice in two days, I've sent PMs to different users and they tried to send one back to me, only I didn't receive it. I find this really odd. I could see one person making a mistake-- but not two?

 That IS odd. At present it seems to be an isolated incident and I don't see anything wrong with the software but I'll keep an eye out. Let me know if it continues to be a problem.
