George and I took Kali and Kyra over to a local jumper show yesterday afternoon. Kali hasn't shown in a year, and this was George's first time showing Kyra, and his first time back showing in the jumpers since 1999. We had a really fun time, deciding to take it easy on all of us and only do the 3' Ch/Adult division (horses are schooling 4'+ at home). Kali was just fantastic, and ended up Champion after winning 2 of the 3 classes, including the stakes class (yay, $!). George was 2nd in the second class, and was having a superb stakes class trip, when he had a slight brain fart and forget which direction the last jump was, so ended up circling and thus incurred some faults. Oh, well! I was so pleased that I managed to NOT do any of the following, which I DID manage to do at my first (and only) jumper show last year: fall off, refuse, have a rail. Pictures! Great pictures Devon! Looks like you two had a blast. I love the one picture of George on Kyra from the side, he is ever the stylist, no? Congrats on a good show for you two.

Isn't that the truth! Comes from way too many years riding with Katie Prudent. (minus the elbows, which I've been yelling at him about for the past 2 weeks... that's a new one)

Yes, we still have Zeda, and she is doing very well! I trailered her over to a trainer friend's place on Saturday, where there is a big outside grass riding area (like 250' x 300') with jumps. She's in a totally strange place, but does she care? Nope, I still needed to carry a crop and she hacked around on the buckle, LOL. Laid-back is an understatement with her. She W-T-C around like an old pro, never changing her perfect pace. She's only jumped itsy-bitsy x-rails before, but we set up a little gymnastics line, and she was perfect. No hesitation, her ears perked up, and she was looking for the next jump. We got up to about a 2'6" oxer, and she was finally giving an effort to jumping it, and doing it in perfect form. She's just got a lot of natural talent, so she doesn't put much effort into small things. Unfortunately, she's a real back-cracker-type jumper, so I don't think she's going to be a sidesaddle horse. My trainer friend looked at me after we were finished, and asked, "Are you REALLY sure you want to sell this one??"
