Went to Heritage yesterday and they put on an awesome show with lots of yummy free food. Didn't even SEE J.Loh as she was lucky to be in the indoor and I was hanging out all day with my horse attached to me with my leadrope...
My horse in the Mods was inconsistent over the jumps(otherwise known as mommy couldn't keep her leg). He was spectacular in the hack and got nothing, was strange. The juding on the flat was weird.
By the time we got to the Pre Adults I didn't think we'd have any horse but I threw on my spurs and rode the best I've ridden in months, rocked right around every course and found all the jumps(really, all 8 and all 9, even the single!!!!!!!!). Mike's been saying for months that I need to ride the canter not find the jumps and he was RIGHT(dammit). Anyway, by the hack Duplo was DONE so we were 7th after a minor explosion(go figure after nothing in the am???) and the people across the street with the 4 wheelers were being horrible...I was 2nd in all three over fences classes(thats consistent huh?) and was RESERVE!!!! It's the first time in the 2'6 we've been rewarded for jumping and I'm proud of my baby :)

I also met Instant Karma, her boy Sonny and Plain Bay!!! Was fun to talk to more BB'ers!

No pictures yet but they are coming...

I wish I could make it to Swannie but I be broke!!! I've got Culpeper next month and thats it for me this summer since I'm gone most of August. Next year I'll plan better and do Middleburg, Loudoun, Swannie and maybe 2 weeks of Culpeper...

And yes, he IS growing up. He was so quiet yesterday and soooo game. Up until the tantrum about the last hack. In his defense, he'd been there 12 hours at that point and had had enough so it was ok.

I Visited Candy Mountain and All I Got Was This Lousy Incision

Heya, nice to meet you and Duplo, CONGRATS on your reserve

It was a nice day, judging was bizarre? I thought my rounds were placed fairly, although he hardly watched them? But we sucked really badly so maybe he just threw us somewhere in the middle of the pack and got it right LOL. The hack was weird, a certain ammy was foul and yelled LOUDLY 'HEADS UP!!!!' while we passed to the inside after I called INSIDE and her horse got snarly. So of course, when the judge looked over, we looked like the guilty party. Hell, with 11 horses in a small ring filled with jumps, inevitably a horse is going to have to trot past another one! My horse gets snarly too, and he didn't, we gave them plenty of space. People just suck!!

But your boy is stupendous and you should be very proud of him:) I was happy with the doodle, he was just very very tired and just could not make it down the lines. And I was the problem, because I couldn't ride the horse I had that day. Oh well, onward to next weekend and the next show!!

Congrats! I was there yesterday in the pre-adults too! Both my horse and I were exhausted by the time we showed as we had been there since 2:00! Very nice show though and good food as always. Just wished we had left later and the dust in the ring was terrible. All in all, a good day. :)

That's okay! I was #750 and rode my big chestnut horse Odyssey:

He was awesome...I was terrible. haha! He's finally getting the hang of this Hunter thing, having done level 3 and 5 jumpers, along with some dressage and limited 3/3'6" Hunters in the past. He doesn't put much effort into 2'6". He just sort of steps over the jumps. :) I do love him though...he's the love of my life!
