Thanks!

Only seen 'em in the Dover catalog. ($899) Have been eyeballing them myself, since my current Ariats are developing a hole where the punched toe is...of course, now that I actually RIDE for a living, they are getting pretty beat up. I've been looking for someone with them on to see if they like them, but haven't seen them yet.

And I just like the pretty silver thingy on the swagger tab... :teehee:

There really isn't a best place that I've seen; it just varies from $899 to $920 or so. Tack on shipping and you're probably about even.

The Tack Box as them for $845 which seems like a good price and they have a good selection in stock. Especially if you can round up a coupon you might be getting a deal...

Ah, Renn, but you miss the ever important "My local tack store is having a 20% off riding boots sale" or similar type "ooh, thanks for letting me know" that comes around. My local tack shop, before it got bought out by horrible rotten people (IMHO) would have 20% off EVERYTHING sales a couple times a year....so even if the prices are about the same, somewhere there will be a deal on them if I just dig hard enough--and since my boots have some more wear left in them, I have some time to be a cheapo and bargain hunt!

Have you tried the Monacos on? I looked at the last weekend at Dover and while they were silky soft, I don't know how durable they'd be. They reminded me of an Italian/French brand (blanking now on which one it was) that was so soft it was like bridle leather coming out of the box. My then-trainer had a pair and they had holes in them after 4 months. Just something to consider... I thought the leather on the Monocos looked dangerously soft.

longevity if secondary to comfort to me, given all my broken bones...but V, I had the same concern.

Good point! I hope that they're included in the 20% off, not like GPAs which are always excluded to my great displeasure :brickwall:

Well, if you find a great deal... I want to know about it too!!

I am dying for a new pair of boots... none of my current field boots really fit the way I'd like, and the Monacos look loverly!!!

Of course I really *should* sell some of the current boots first, but ... if you find a great sale....

Does your trainer get a "professional 20 percent discount" anywhere? Ours does, and we push her to buy all of our big ticket items for us.

I tried them on, and I didn't care for the look of the foot. I'm not too big on the squared toe.
