Al and I went to the Woodside HT this weekend to view the XC. I walked the advanced course (much to the chagrin of my foot!)! We actually watched all the P, all the I and all the A. On the A course Dawn White and her horse had trouble at the last water. It was a huge drop bank and he refused. By the 3rd refusal he struggled to maintain his balance and hooked a leg, causing he and his rider to flip into the water. After that I could not watch if any rider had a stop at any jump! It was sad but he and his rider were OK.Stealing a page from TOB I wantd you guys to see the fall! http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcdill/sets/72157605238922645/ She had no business forcing him to fall like that and I am sure he will think twice before he attempts another huge drop into the water! Here is the link to the TOB conversation about this! Being an actual witness it was sad and horrifying. they are both lucky to be in one piece! http://chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=149807 Sorry to bring up a sore subject but it is very sad to see so I had to fill you guys in! |

He refused THREE times? I thought the third refusal was DQ???Kind of reminds me of a certain woman rider at Rolex who smacked her horse over every jump...before HE flipped and fell. <_< I think some riders aren't listening to what their horses are saying. I'm glad they both appeared to be fine. Poor you Steph! I imagine this is not helping your nerves. |

He was refusing it when he crawled up and over it! I was upset and had trouble watching the rest of the advanced horses! If one stopped I turned away until they were over it or had been eliminated! Thanks for caring Jaci!

I hope she is never allowed to compete in recognized events again. Those are awful pictures. |

Oh but look at her color coordination. What an idiot. How come the ones with the most bling stand out for all the wrong reasons. OMT. How come she didn't have enough flaming sense to STOP! |

One refusal is a warning signal. Two refusals (at the same jump) are a BIG RED WARNING FLAG that there is a hole in your training. What an idiot. I know I shouldn't judge from the pics, but she looks more pissed that she was eliminated than concerned about her horse.
