I'm glad you are going for the mudknot. I love the look!

I put one in the ponies every chance I get. Every horse I own has a horrible tail, so they wear wigs or mudknots. Even my small section A welsh has a thin tail. It stinks, but on the flip side, I don't have to pull any manes. I just have to trim them and I'm ready to braid.

I just bought a tail for Bubba at Bevals. They have a bunch of them in the clearance section for $80.00 or $100.00. I don't know yet if it matches, so it may have to go back. Chestnuts are so difficult to match.

I always think they look like angry arms with fists! Particularly when they are "active" but didn't Ready Penny in "A Very Young Rider" have a mudknot?
