Definitely Nordstrom. I wanted to try some fancy pants jeans and made the mistake of wandering into the juniors department. A very nice sales clerk pointed me in the right direction and told me what brands to look for. I was a very, very happy customer. Wearing my DKNY jeans right now...I think they were under $60. So comfy, and they look great.

hmmm -- this is cool!

Ok, so Nordstrom's will be on my destination list when I go back to Orlando next month!

saks there had a nice department, but I couldn't find any assistance when I was there last time and I just find the choices overwhelming!

Now, however, I'm inspired! : :woot:

Good luck on your search!

I hate shopping for jeans. I can never find pairs that aren't way too long and I don't like the way jeans look when they're hemmed (something about it always looks funny). And of course, I just tore a hole in the bottom of the one pair of nice jeans I own that I don't have to cuff...big sigh.

At least you can hem them! I am very limited in my choice of jeans because I am 5'11". I too do not like the look of hemmed jeans.

Bensmom, maybe they have a Nordstroms in Lexington??

Almost all of my jeans are hemmed. If you get them to do the "original hem", it keeps the same hem that they come with and it looks more natural. :)

I think we should all just go jeans shopping in Mellie's closet!

If everyone is 5'2" with a lot of junk in their trunk, then that would be a fantastic idea!

OMT! I'm TALLER than Mellie. I probably have double the junk in the trunk too, but, hey, who's counting!

Where does one go to get this done? Will a regular taylor place know how to do this or do I need someplace that specializes in jeans for short people?
I just got a really cute pair of jeans to replace the torn ones (after a 2+ hour search in the mall...) and I'd love to not have to cuff them!

a regular tailor can do it, or if yours can't, take them to Nordstrom. If you are a sewer, I found easy to follow directions online!
