I put this on the ER thread the other day, but hardly anyone's read it and nobody has offered any ideas. So I thought I'd try here (more traffic :luck:). Does anybody have anything to suggest? I'd like to help my donkey buddy out with some ideas!

I'm hoping you all might have some ideas to share about a friend's 3-1/2 yr. old Standard Donkey, never been ridden or worked, lame in one rear leg, reluctant to move beyond a walk. I know donkeys may show some different symptoms from a horse, but maybe you'd have some idea what else she should consider. This is info from the owner:

She will pull her leg up close to her body, hold it there for a minute or so and then extend it down but not put weight on it. EPM has been ruled out, upward fixation of the patella has been ruled out. Nerve blocks and x-rays have ruled out any lower leg or foot problems. She has really atrophied muscle wise in her hips and gluts.

I will share your expertise with the owner who will share it with her vet...both are puzzled. THANKS!

No expert here, but I'd consider looking at spine and hip alignment/chiropractic/sacro-cranial type issues. And  and :jingles: to donkey and human.

This was my immediate thought also. Call a chiro and see if its spinal.

:jingles: for poor donkey.
