My hubby's Grandma is 90 years old. She's been in poor health for a few years, but lately has been in and out of the hospital and nursing home for bronchitis, possible heart attack, etc. Well this afternoon his mom called and said she is back in the hospital with acute renal failure and respiratory distress. :,( She has had heart and lung problems for years. She's 90 and DNR, no surgery, etc. I don't think it's going to be long before we're headed to Ohio for a funeral.

She has lived a good long life and we have been blessed to have her this long. Just asking for jingles for his family and that she passes peacefully. (Also, this sounds selfish, but I really hope we don't have to go this weekend around my DD's birthday. Or around Rolex, which is her birthday present. :sigh: But what can you do? Can't plan these things. )

Oh I am sorry steph, 90 is very old. Hopefully she does not linger and suffer! :(
Sending you hugs and prayers. :rose:

Thanks guys, it means a lot to me. Probably we are the ones who have it easiest as she lives in Ohio. Hubby has been trying hard until this latest set-back (she can't really talk now) to call her regularly, and his sister has been sending flowers from all of us at appropriate times. We should all be so lucky to see 90 years and 8 great-grandchildren. But it's hard on his mom and aunt, even though his mom lives here in MI they have born the brunt of her failing health and especially the recent events.

I am just trying to get some things done so we can leave town quickly if necessary. Unfortunately death happens whether you want it to or not, at least she has had 90 good years. But I know she's been lonely without his grandfather for the last 13 of them.
