Okay, there was a dance at school on Friday. The kids begged me to chaperone and participate. The teacher/sponsor of the club putting on the event is a friend, so I consented.
Part of what I consented to was being part of a mix-match fashion show. I had tight jeans tucked into camel colored knee-high boots with a weird short skirt that one of the kids brought in over the jeans. My top was just a bright pink crew neck top. Plus a purple wig and a tote bag with bacon and eggs on it. Not my typical outfit.

Now, the principal came over to me and whispered, "God, you're hot" in my ear right before the fashion show. I don't know if it was intended to be creepy, but it was and now I'm really uncomfortable and not sure how to handle it. I'm I just being a big baby? <_<

I never excuse sexual harrassment; but I wonder in this case, if it was a joke gone bad. Obviously, you were dressed funny. Not in a hot outfit, but almost a clownish one. Be extremeley professional in your interaction. I would document the situation and the circumstances and if it happens again, take it to the higher ups. He may have just made a bad judgement call trying to be funny.

Hopefully, it was one of those situations where he went OMT, did I that just come out of my mouth? Like we all have had!

I keep trying to tell myself that it was a joke but he didn't smile and was really creepy in how he said it. Still gives me the willies.
And after he said it he said, "well, now you know what I think". What is that supposed to mean??

Given his follow up statement, if you think it was said seriously, I'd have my radar on HIGH with this guy.

I agree: act totally professional and civil, but don't be overly friendly with him...and AVOID being alone with him if you possibly can.

Surf's up...I'd be watchful here.

In my book 'if it smells like poo, sounds like poo and you want to avoid it like poo - it probably IS poo.'

In this case, it sounds like SH, it felt like SH, it hit you like it was SH, and it was followed up with another poor comment that you did not appreciate. To me that's SH - and I would nip it in the bud - with documentation and intervention by a 3rd party. A minimum of 'Ms. XX did not appreciate your comments. Ms XX has documented same, kept between myself (hume resources personel), you Mr. Bad Comment and MS XX. To end NOW.'

When I feel its a joke I take it different.

When I feel its SH I take steps to STOP IT NOW. Esp. working in a field with 90% males.

Oh wait, the follow up comment changes everything. I think the first step is document and also make it very clear to him that you want his behavior to stop immediately. If he gets anywhere near you, tell him that you did not appreciate the comment. Be specific on time and place and say, " I want to be very clear about this. I want your comments to stop. If they do not stop immediately, I will escalate." Then, if he ever steps out of line, take it further.

Thanks, guys.
I'm not a very confrontational person (quite the contrary, usually, actually) but this really rubbed me the wrong way and I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just being a hyper-sensitive baby. He is my boss.

That is just wrong & inappropriate. Is there some kind of teacher representative liasion person you can go talk to & get this documented? Perhaps they have had these issues before with him?
