Monkey has been on the Eagle Pack Holistic now for two weeks (really closer to three) and the neurotic itching and scratching has STOPPED! I can actually pet him now without him falling over from lifting up a leg. Lily is also doing very well on the Solid Gold Wolf Cub. Her coat is fabulous; soft and shiny, and she's really put on some good weight. Lots of poop though! I'm guessing that's just a puppy thing? It's less than the amount she was producing on the the PMI Exclusive stuff. BT, I'm sorrry about Milo's poor little itchy, pink feet! I hope someone can offer you some advice that might help or the vet can offer some insight.

Our Lab, Josey, does the same thing.. for him, it's mainly and OCD type thing (he's already neurotic ), but he does have allergies (allergic to pretty much everything outside, what a Lab ) so that doesn't help. We take him to an allergist, and he gets allergy shots when needed, and is pretty much on an antihistimine 6-9 months out of the year (it's called Hydroxizine, I may have spelled it wrong though). If he gets real bad, he goes on steriods for a few days to let everything calm down. Since switching them to Canidae, he's been alot better. We also got these wipes from his allergist that are supposed to kill yeast, etc. They work great too. We wipe Josey's belly, and in between his toes/paws. If yeast is what's causing them to scratch/lick/etc., a few days of this should calm it down somewhat (after testing his skin scraping, that what we found Josey's problem is). I'm actually going to use one on him for the next couple of days since he's starting the paw licking again. |
