On the schedule today is a serious fridge cleaning. It is virtually empty (always is) and needs a thorough cleaning. It's moderately dirty, not filthy.

I looked under the sink for cleaning products and thought I'd first ask TOC experts for some good advice.

Maybe this is just my way of procrastinating ;)

What should I use to clean my fridge?

Thanks
:teehee:

You CLEAN your fridge? :P

OK, sometimes I do, but mostly I consider "cleaning" the fridge to mean throwing out moldy leftovers.

I use Clorox cleanup in my fridge, with a warm, wet sponge. If the veggie drawers are really awful I pull them out and wash in the sink w/ regular dish soap, rinse and replace. And I always have baking soda in the fridge & freezer.

On the outside (stainless) I use windex or some equivalent.

As far as the rest of the house, my suggestions are: learn to like clutter, dust & hair balls. Makes it much easier! :one:

I would stay away from harsh products in the fridge...use a mix of vinegar and water. You can clean just about anything with either vinegar, baking soda, or lemon juice, and then you don't have to worry about residue. :)

Mellie's right -- white vinegar and water is great for just about anything in the house, including floors. And no nasty fumes, so you don't get a head rush when you use it in close quarters.

Ahhh I just did mine when I started my Diet. I just fill the sink with hot sudsy water, plain dish soap, and take out the drawers, wash rinse and dry, whipe out all the surfaces and dry, And it looks brand new! And I dont even miss all the bad food I used to keep in it, bad meaning not on the diet!

Yep, I just wash out my frig with dish soap and water. I'm afraid to use anything too harsh because I don't want any residue getting on the food.

As for the dog washes, can you PM me your address again? Duffy could use a good scrubbing... he hates baths but will stand still and look pathetic for you!! :innocent:

I DID IT
Only a couple of areas needed more than mild soap (I could not find white vinegar and did not want to go to the supermarket in my bathrobe). I am wetter than expected :innocent: Had to use soft scrub on areas that looked like alien seed pods. And anyhow, if they are alien seed pods, they went down the drain into the ground water, so the neighbors will get them now. The water spots are because my back is killing me and I could no longer hand dry the whole flippin thing.

NEXT TIME I HAVE TO WASH THE FRIDGE I MAY BUY ONE INSTEAD :psycho:

Now for the dog washes...
