I'm watching the dog show on Animal Planet and it made me think....

if your horse were a dog, what breed would he or she be?

Miller would be a golden retreiver puppy. Energetic, friendly, eager to please.

Tyler....hmmmm....not sure....he's grouchy and doesn't like people, except to get treats.

Ha! I would have to say at this point in her life Lorelei would be a young, female beagle...

Based only on personality, not looks:

Bubba would be a lab,
Witchy would be a poodle,
King would be a Rotweiler,
Cricket would be a Minature Pincher.

My trainer already jokes that my yearling filly Olivia is a golden retriever puppy instead of a horse. She's sweet, eager to please and just wants to follow me around all the time. Oh, and she's blonde :P

Tarragon is like a Malamute I had- she's big and strong, very intelligent, aloof and has tons of hair!

Mine would be one of those really fat opinionated chihuahuas. The type that don't ever walk anywhere because they are carreid, get to wear outfits, and are prone to dramatic mood swings.

Miss Grace- a pampered princess poodle drama llama - standard poodle, not toy

Gunner - hmmm, prolly a chocolate lab - eager, silly, dopey-fun way of doing things, always in the way and underfoot

Wealthia, my OTTB broodmare - some sort of sighthound (greyhound, I think) that likes to be nearby but not really touched or cuddled. A bit hysterical at times.

Coco, the 30 yo QH retiree - would be some sort of very old grizzled terrier mix that gets out of bed to eat and to growl at the other dogs, but not much else....maybe to pace the floor, wishing he could go out hunting.

Peekaboo, the fat, lame POA/pony cross - hmmm. A tough one. She strikes me as the shelter mutt that never got over a sense of abandonment. Something fat and spotted, maybe. :P

Phatboy would be a big, fuzzy mutt. (He is a Dutch warmblood, so technically he is a mutt :) ) He is aloof at times unless you have a treat for him (Snaffle, I can relate :) ). He can be very demanding.

Now on the other hand, if he were to be a person he would be a professor at an Ivy League School.

Oprah would be a St Bernard. Loyal, trustworthy, quiet, good worker

Sunny I have to think on that one but he's focused, a bit of a diva, and pretty much likes things his way but sometimes is willing to see the other point of view....poodle? But he would be insulted by that....

Ian would be a doberman. Tall, sleek, and elegant, but not exactly looking to be your best friend. He's more of a "take care of business" type.

I loved Best in Show but I really loved Waiting for Gufman (is that the right spelling?) I think I'm going to need to buy that one. A Mighty Wind was a little weaker, although I loved the singing.
