I have flown it before. And lived to tell. ;) Not uber fancy, but for the price I wasn't expecting it to be.

Just recently flew USA 3000 from Chicago to Sarasota for about $175 round trip which wasn't bad. They are about the same as AirTran & Spirit (another I have flown). They usually have a "specials" area I would check too.

Duffy, I'm sure if you ask one of the flight attendants, they will take good care of you!

Umm...I am a flight attendant, and this is not true. The airlines don't want to be held liable when we injure ourselves wrestling passenger bags into overheads, and we are specifically directed to not lift passenger bags. Sometimes we do it anyway, but we are not supposed to, and are told we would face disciplinary action if there is an 'incident'. If you have doubts about your ability to carry on your "carry-on" luggage you should probably check your bag. You could always try asking some strong-looking fellow passenger for help if you really want to carry a big bag, or you could try taking a small one that will fit underneath the seat in front of you.

I knew this ;)

If you carry on items you cannot lift or manuver, you can always ask a fellow traveller to help. I would never ask a member of the crew! Not they won't help, they cannot help!

On my unit (oncology, non-surgical) we occasionally get an immobile patient. They have to be moved from bed to gurney (liter) by a hydraulic lift. Sometimes the patients and family are very unhappy! It is safe and often much better for patient than sliding. The hospital will NOT cover a back (or other) injury if we slide a prone patient rather than lift.

Not flight related... SORRY!!

Aww...but that ruins the spectating fun for us others sitting there waiting. :teehee: Last flight we took bets on watching a person try MANY times to get their over sized giant heavy carry on suitcase into the over head compartment without whacking anybody sitting nearby. Personally I am amazed at what people are allowed to carry on despite it not fitting. :o

Oh, wow, good to know! I have had them help me on several occasions, so I just thought that would be okay since Duffy is dealing with an injury. Thanks for the info!

Too bad RyanAir doesn't fly around the USA. Cheap, efficient and clean aircraft. If y'all are ever in Europe or the UK, I highly recommend RyanAir (even though they once lost a bag on a Dublin-Liverpool flight)

I've flown Airtran several times with no problems- got the cheap upgrade and felt really cool, too.
