...after riding for the first time in a while? We don't have a indoor where I ride so I've been care-taking and feeding. The past few days have been warm enough for everything to thaw and I got the chance to ride yesterday and today...what a great feeling! I have several very nice, albeit green, ponies at my dispersal...and I had three great rides. One yesterday, and two today. It's so lovely when you hop back on the greenies after a few months off, and they're right where you've left off. I schooled my "favorite" today and after about once around the ring going.... :psycho: ,he was like..."OH! I REMEMBER!" :one: and was SO good, rounding, using himself and coming into my hands. I adore him! And I feel so much better after riding...I forget how much I need it to keep me sane. My SO just left to go on tour for a month, so having the ability to ride right now is keeping me sane. Here's hoping for 3 more good rides tomorrow AM. Feel free to chime in with how much you love your beasts!

:cloud9: :cheer:

Yeah. :)
It's been a really eventfull four weeks here. First, I sold my Rosie and bought my new broodmare Hesta (who I do ride, although she is green and hot-hot-hot!). Then I was sick with exaustion for about a week. I got out once, sat on Hesta for about two minutes (heaven!!). Then we had a week of -45 temperatures. Again, I got out once, to pay board, and visit with Hesta(not to ride). Heaven again!! This this week, I started school again (I have to retake my BSc to get into vet school) and the weather went low-high-low, and since that is a prescription to colic combined with a hot greenie, it was no riding again. So I managed to sneak out once again for a visit.. and have had a huge smile all over my face all today.

Hubby suggested I get rid of horses for a while while I was doing the school thing, andwhen I began to get that horrified Nooooo..Wayyyy look on my face, he said he didn't mean to sell Hesta, just to let riding take a back seat while I did my studies and she did her make-a-baby thing.

Yes.. they really do "do" something for you, somehow.

Oh I love it. And I love it when I get on Paddy and he hasn't been ridden in a month and he's perfect and I can do a light school with a loop in my reins and he's just totally there for me. Or when I hop on Miles and we go off on the trail and get into our groove. There's nothing like it!
