Were supposed to be getting horrible thunderstorms with bad wind today. Wind picks up for about 5 minutes, then completely dies. Its kind of weird. Probably waiting for me to get in the car and drive home.

We have blizzards coming down, over deep wet water logged soil. My pasture has water fetlock deep in some areas that are gonna turn to ice rink. :brickwall: :brickwall:

This has been the most craptastic winter.

I hope those in the tornado areas are okay.

I'm in the same storm as you DQ. :censored: snow over ice that was mud. :argh: Hubby is at work until 7 am tomorrow, so I have to shovel. Did I mention I hate shoveling?? :argh: So I will just shovel a path from the house to the garage, did once already. Will do again before going to bed, and probably again about 5 am. :mallet: I would get the snowblower out but that seems like too much work too. :sigh:

I just hope I can get out of the driveway tomorrow morning. Have to take DS (13 months old) in for surgery at 6:45 am to get tubes put in his ears. Should be a fun drive!! :psycho: I turned the van around so I can drive straight out of the garage and driveway and not have to back up.

Well, fortunately I survived the tornadoes around here. It was BAD here in Memphis - several people dead, good bit of tornado damage, lots of straight line wind damage. There were tornadoes all around me, but fortunately none of them touched down. The videos people took were amazing. I was hold up in my house with the dogs and cats listening to the SCARY wind but I have a couple friends who saw tornadoes on their way home from work (these didn't touch down, thank goodness). VERY rarely the weather really freaks me out, but last night was one of those nights I was REALLY nervous! Fortunately, no one I know had any real problems, I am unscathed, and the barn was not disturbed.

Yikes Kiki, how SCARY!!!! I'm glad you are ok! How about the ponies? I always worry about horses and cows when I hear about tornados.

Kikki, scary!! I probably would have dug a hole to the middle of the Earth and stayed in it; tornadoes have always been really freaky to me.

This winter has been ridic! I mean, it was like 65-70 in Annapolis today, and a week ago it was bbbrrrrr freezing. What's going on!? Today I wouldn't have been surprised if a tonado had rolled through, with the warmness and wind and clouds.

They said on the news tonight that a couple and their 11 year old were killed in the tornadoes when they went out to try to calm their horses. They didn't say what became of the horses. :( There also was a mention of some horses in one of the online news reports today, in the middle of the article. The news people heard horses "whinnying in the dark" and then saw their eyes when they turned their flashlights to them.

Kikki, so glad you and your ponies weathered the storm ok.

Add floods to the list. I am planning on leaving Friday morning, but am currently glued to noaa watching the river rise to just over flood stage (12 ft). At 14 ft. it comes over the road and down my driveway. I am going to be OK this time as the rain is almost done and it is predicted to crest at 12.5 feet.

One of the few bad things about where I live.

OK So I was an idiot to not get the snowblower fixed, Or more likely to have a man who is incapable of doing anything mechanical. <_<
Thank god I kept up with the long section of the driveway yesterday. Last night I took my car out of the garage before he came home. Yeah, 3 stall garage and I get to keep my car outside. Of course thats my choice, Truck had stayed in all winter, Right now it has 10 bales of hay in it, for the last 3 weeks, I have not driven it in snow all winter, I am delusional if I think its going to make a difference anymore in its rusting condition, its rusting under the doors bad, Sigh~ Poor baby. I am going to have to do the part of the drive in front of the garage in sections.. there is probably a foot of snow. I have to measure the picnic table, I cleared it off before the storm. MAye 10 inches I am guessing! :mallet: :pissed: :censored: :argh:

Apparently there has been some freaky weather all over the place... It snowed in Iraq about two weeks ago... the first time in 200 years!

It just seems so odd to have tornadoes in February  Prayers for the folks who have to suffer loss and have to deal with the aftermath :candle:
