My washing machine has left me for greener pastures....

So any of you guys have a washer you love? Or one you hate? I am thinking a front load is the way to go, bigger capacity, more efficient.

Any thoughts?

I got an LG Front Loading machine about six months ago. I can't say enough good things about it.

The clothes come out smelling really really clean and the best part - the controls are sort of set up like a video game (bright, shiny, and they light up) so DH doesn't mind doing laundry!!!

Consumer Reports definitely!

Have 2 new Maytags (Neptune) with all the bells and whistles. Love them!
Front load is fabulous! Get a front loader!

I have always had good luck with Kenmore products. These two Maytags are a first for me.

Just bought a Kenmore stove and D/W. Both recommended by Consumer Reports. Both are just fine.

Don't buy cheap appliances. The few dollars you save aren't worth it in the long run.

HH, I love Venice! I'd go to a laundromat forever if I had to give up another trip to Venice ;)

One thing you need to know about front loaders - a little bit of water stays in the rubber area between the door and the actual machine (clear as mud, huh?).

We keep a towel in the laundry room that we use to wipe that up and also leave the door open so it drys out. I guess mold was a problem for some people. We haven't had a problem with it, but we do take those precautions.

Never had mold. It does get dirty and I wipe it with some item I'm going to wash. The dispensers for soap, bleach, softener are soooooo nice!

There is also a rubber liner to go under the new washers - BUY ONE!!! - that has a drain outlet they hook into your drains.

My brother builds houses and this nifty item is one he insists on for all new homes. Has saved many a home!! (Most new house have laundry on 2nd floor).
