So would you breed a mare with Bi-Partite of the Navicular bone? The condition is where the navicular bone does not develop properly in utero and forms two bones instead of one. Or even in the mare I am refering to the vets do not even think she has a navicular bone but instead calcified areas. So would you breed her or would you be afraid she would pass it onto the foal?

Thanks in Advanced!

I would not. I knew a gelding with this condition who was never quite right depsite being nerved twice, many other treatments, shoeings, etc. It may or may not be genetic, but not a chance I'd take. JMHO.

IMO, for myself..... she would be a definate NO for Breeding. Just the thought . of the possibility of breeding something like that on, or even "what could happen to her", carrying a foal etc. The risks, would not be an option for me. :(
